One of the many things my family do to spend quality time with each other is watching a movie at home. We're having chips and sodas while watching. We share laughter and tears (depending on the movie we watch.) The kids always look forward for this moment.

While we all like computer games as well (I refuse to enter PS2 into my house, or non of us will ever do anything useful).
I was talking about "box games" - games you play without a computer, like "guess who?", scrabbles, stuff like that.
We are all the time in-front of the TV & computer, so when we finally have some quite time for the family I prefer to close them and just sit one next to the others. I believe we have better conversations this way (or maybe I'm just old fashion like my kids think..)

Hi lilmom2,
To me the best quality time is time spent while having a meal together. The duration of the meal must be sufficiently long so that everyone in the family can interact and share his or her 'story'. If it's a rushed meal then I'm afraid it is not a good thing. Everyone should be relaxed and in a good mood. The food is not the main thing but if the food is good it is even better. During such occasions one can really communicate and bond with everyone. After the meal everyone can adjourn to the living room or another place for some fun session such as watching a video or playing some board games.

One of the most precious moments I have with my daughter is cuddling in bed while having conversations about her school life, about her friends, her crushes or anything that interests her. I allow her to be comfortable about these topics so she will not hide secrets from when she grows up.

We spend quality time telling jokes and laughing out loud. We always bond while eating or watching TV. And also watching movies is the best time that we do for us to take a sit and be together before bed time. ^_^

In our family, we usually spend time together when there are family occasions, which is actually sad when you think about it because we don't get much occasions at all, but we sometimes have Sunday dinners together. I love those dinners especially when my siblings are around because we get to spend the time together, talking just about anything, sharing laughter and experiences. We can't really be complete though because 3 of my siblings now are working in a far away place, but we stay in communication with them.

We use to spend times together in the house, just having bbq outside, instead of eating in the dining room, we do it in the backyard and inflate the pool. Sometimes, just watching tv, or go to the beach (20mins away from the house) just watching the sunrise or sunset, if we have extra money, we can eat in a restaurant there. It doesn't have to be expensive, as long as we are all happy and we're together, it's all worth it.

We spend time together by making sure to have our meals together. Spending meals together gives us time to share what we had during the day.

make sure that Sunday is really your family day. After going to church, then have lunch together, it's either at home or in your favorite restaurant. I may suggest that you should have lunch at home because it is not so expensive and you will be able to teach your kids how to cook.
