Here lately, I haven't been able to read much other than my TL on Twitter, my newsfeed on Facebook, online articles and few magazines here and there.. I miss being able to sit back and finish an entire novel, few pages shy of 1000 pages in less than a week. Last 2 good books I read were "The Kite Runner" and "The Farming of Bones" by Edwidge Danticat. I love Stephen King as well, but all of the books on my shelf I've read 3 and 4 times over. I have a BookNook at Barnes & Nobles online through Amazon, but I don't really have time to read electronically because I only have my laptop which I work from most of the time. But I do plan to start back reading soon because I have started back writing a little bit. What good books do you guys recommend? I kind of like fiction.. but I prefer novels based on true stories with twists of fiction. =) All feedback welcome.

You might like to try out any of Dan Brown's five novels, namely The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons (prequel of The Da Vinci Code), Deception Point, Digital Fortress, and The Lost Symbol. If you haven't read any of his works, that is. His novels are all based on existent agencies as well as secret societies and such, some even made way to so much controversies because of the alleged facts that his novels stated out. They are full of twists and turns within the scenes and some may even turn out a bit suspenseful for some readers, too. But then again... aren't the fictional works usually based on real events on the lives of real people? Just blabbering. :)

I actually do have a fairly new copy of The Da Vinci Code and I am familiar with his work. I started reading that book a few years ago when the movie came out, however I never finished it. Now that you mention it, I may pick it back up one day soon. Just because I never finished the book, I have never seen the movie. I like to read the books first if movies are based off of books and I am aware of it lol. I guess it's just a thing I do. But I will check them out. Thanks for your insight! Thanks for commenting!!

I just finished "Gone Girl" by Gillian Flynn about a woman who is missing and the circumstances around her disappearance. This novel takes alot of twists and turns so I 'm sure it will keep you reading. Also liked "newlyweds" by Nell Fruedenberger, about an American Man and a woman from Bangladesh who marry and all of the cultural clashes each of them experience. I am reading "State of wonder" now by Ann Patchett, but have only read about 20 pages. I like it so far. Have you read Stephen King's 11/22/63. It's about a man who time travels to the weeks preceding JFK's assassination and is able to prevent it. I hope this helps.

I haven't heard of any of those authors, but there are so many days in one's lifetime that I am sure to check them out! I appreciate your suggestions and they sound quite fascinating! Thank you for sharing!!

I am not a reader so I cannot recommend any good books to you. Sorry about that. I'm sure there are quite a few people here who can though.
