When my friend and I were out walking we noticed these small children playing in their garden. They had a tent and were taking tea out side .They looked really sweet the little girl was handing her brother a small cup of pretend tea and the brother was pretending to drink it.We thought with all thats going on small children don't change do they.

That's a nice way to play for kids. At least, they will develop their social skills and enjoy their being young. They will forever cherish them until they grow old. I remember my times too, when i was small. We also used to play house together with my cousins. They were one of those memorable times of my childhood.

Both my husband and I were playing cricket with our grandchildren in our garden today. What fun. Before that we went over the park and played on the swings and messed about with the dog.Great fun.

Indeed suzzy, it's fun reminiscing those playful days of our childhood. It makes us want to go back to those days of "no problem" at all.

I would like to see my little ones doing more things that i did when i was a child.Too much tv, video games & the computer keeps kids from getting out & playing like we did. I made a zillion mudpies, lol, bet there's not many kids that have ever made a one. hope u have a good weekend, Suzzy.

Sounds like u had fun to. Thanks for the best response. MY dil who is my oldest grandaughter's mom worries all the time about her getting dirty. Makes me want to roll her in a mudpie, lol, [the dil]. Kids need to be kids not fashion plates, GRRRR!

Haha ,that is so hilarious since i also have gone through the same kind of stuff in my childhood and i was really fascinated by it.It shows exactly my life .these activity is quite good and it will help to have a good bond with each other at a early childhood when the jealous and cruel intentions are more.we have to guide them and ideally guide them to be caring and very friendly for sure and they will never change ,since they have a world of their own

The world is a different place but kids are not so different to us when we were kids.I take my grandchildren over the park,I let them play and get on with it.I keep an eye out for them but I don't think smothering them is any good at all.

Hi friend, we too played this kind of games in our childhood days, as we don't know anything in that childhood period and do a lot of funny things like this. Those days never came back again in our life, we will get excitement while watching this kind of games

Awww, I can almost see the kid that I was once! I still remember my plastic tea set, and the bald plants of my mom because we "harvest" them and "cook" them. And oh another scene comes into my mind with what you just described: that scene from ConAir, where the inmate in maximum security approached a little girl playing tea time and he joined her.

How simple was our life .It is only complicated by todays parents who seem to be on a mission to run their kids lives.I have had some wonderful responses ,this has rung a bell with so many.I have really enjoyed this discussion.

I'm glad to hear it was not organized playtime, but just two kids making up their own fun. Now so many kids have full schedules of classes and sports and lessons and they are never left on their own.

I knew a mother who organised every spare moment for her kids. How on earth can a child cope with that.

Such a sweet scene... That is the sort of thing that can happen when kids are left to play normally and be kids, rather than chained to some game console, television, computer and/or cell phone. It is nice to know that not every child is afflicted by nature deficit disorder.

I thought the same as you so much fun from free play.sparks the imagination and helps them learn so much.
