We have always had some sort of pets at our house all the time. We have had hamsters given to us. Always had a cat or two and at least one dog. Ducks rabbits and chickens have always been around too as well as a few horses. When my 45 year old daughter made her own home she has had animals as well cats, dogs, fish,Guinea pigs, rabbits, sugar gliders and now she has a fish pond and every time she turns around there are tiny new baby frogs.
Now most all animals have to be fed most of the time when they can't go finding food for themselves. Here is the kicker she is now trying to make pets out of the frogs in her pond. She is going to the pet store and buying crickets to hand feed the frogs. It cost her $4.00 for two dozen just to feed the frogs that can find their own food. Well she is having fun with it and that is what counts. She got the idea when she went to her usual water plant and fish nursery. The lady there also has a pond and she was telling us about how she sometimes hand feeds her frogs

wellI have to say your daughter certainly has a love of
animals..and good for her, I am sure she has enough love
for every last one of them...The animals are very very
lucky they have her..
But if she can afford it more power to her and lucky frogs...

I think my brother used to buy crickets to feed his animals too, I thought it was expensive after awhile. He has always lived at home with my parents though. The pets give you some joy and comfort and feeding them is fun. I think your daughter loves all those pets and takes care of them with alot of love too. Good for her. I think the sugar glider is different, is it easy to care for? I was at one point where I did want one of those years ago.

Your daughter is quite the animal person.
I wouldn't do that, though, because I wouldn't want wild animals to become dependent on me providing a food supply. Plus, I spend quite a bit on my furry children that I wouldn't want to expand my financial obligations to include feeding the wild critters as well.

Let me know how that works out, I never heard of hand feeding a frog but who knows they might make good pets

She sounds just like me! Currently, we have: 4 dogs, 4 cats, 5 birds, 7 rats, two snakes, six rabbits, a guinea pig and pigeons. We bred our own crickets when we had lizards, to save money. Breeding mealworms is really easy, also. Our rats are bred for foods for the snakes. You have to improvise when you love pets as much as we all do!
