Okay most of us here are mothers/fathers not too old but it's getting older everyday.
Did you still feel any inner childhood in your self? Like watching cartoons, watching teenage shows, or do you still collect or play any childhood toys or dolls?
It just came to my mind last night, I saw a teenage TV show and although I'm not familiar with the cast I'm still giggled with their act. You know the teenage life so wonderful full of love and sweetness.
I'm still fond of collecting hello kitty stuff and very likely wants pink color, which I know not bad but I feel I'm more excited to see and have those than to me 15 year old daughter. Or maybe the saying is true that "life begins at 40".

I was talking to an elderly relative the other day of 87 years of age. Currently in my 60s, I was saying that I feel little difference (in mind) to what I did when I was say 14 years old. I feel more aches and pains in my body and I don't have such a lot of stamina these days, but I would say that I am pretty child-like.
I like to watch Sci-fi on the TV still and many of the genres I did when I was a kid. Like magic and fantasy. I get very bored by more "adult" things, like the state of the economy or documentaries.
I often think when I see a tree that I would love to climb it and just sit in the branches watching the world go by. I don't tend to do it though, probably because people my think I am completely crazy. But who know, one day, I may just throw off my inhibitions and just do it! _Derek

I think that part of being a woman is being child like. I watched an episode of Bad Girls Club and it certainly reinfacized for me the difference between 'childish' and 'childlike'. These young ladies were spoiled, bit.chy, and very immature. To be childlike is to have child like characteristics without the immature childishness.

I am still in college and very young but the kid in me will never out grow . I love jsut being away from all the trouble , clearing my mind and enjoy my childhood games . I love teenager show well most of the them are my age anyways lol . I love shows like gossip girl and awkward and even when I am 40 I will be relax/comfortable enough to still enjoys those kinda shows. I think no matter how old you are your life should still be full of "love and sweetness" . I think people put too much emphasis on age, the only difference is as a teenager your parents take care of you , but if you are making your own money as an adult cant you put yourself first some time ? live a little! only you can hold yourself back from enjoying the short time we have on earth . I love pink and even when I have children and a husband I will still wear pink , I can be a parents but still have a life at least on the weekend lol . best wishes

I think there is childish soul in our self. We still need playing for relax. that is way there is games in our mobile phone or computer. I am teacher for kindergarten and i am a mom. so I have to familiar with their world. My friend who teacher of kindergarten too, her age is 67 years old but she still loo young. we can see how she wearing clothes and accessories, her spirit and her style. so as your title in the topic, we maybe old from our age, but still young in heart.

I like the last sentence: "life begins at 40." That was great. As I approach the 40th year of God's goodness, I am amazed at how I still learn a lot of things that I didn't thought I could learn. No, I don't watch those cartoons nor spending idle time on television. However, I can recall those childhood days where life is more about enjoyment and fun. With the piling up of responsibilities, I can just wish that I had the kind of wisdom when I was young and tender in age. It's not bad to enjoy ourselves just like the times in our childhood as long as there is a higher purpose.

Why not try to be a child again and play your favorite toy when your still young. I know it is not bad it's good for our health too the bad thing is we are serious all the time.

Probably one could say my life began at 50. That is when I finally had the means to live somewhat autonomously. My teenage years are not something to look back upon with happiness. They were far from carefree. Age is really pretty much a frame of mind.

I don't have any kids yet. So, when the cartoons are on, it's all me.
I like cartoons; I watch anime (granted, some of the ones I like definitely aren't for kids); I think Hello Kitty is adorable. However, I also have my very definite adult side--listening to NPR, drinking coffee, going to nice restaurants, enjoying wineries. I think that it's good to stay young at heart, but I definitely am not trying to cling to my youth in vain. I know that I'm not a kid, and I want credit for my education and experience level.

I am a 40 year old mom of three and I admit I am still young at heart.:) I still watch cartoons, I like to be playful with my kids and I even love to listen to their kind of music. I read Nancy Drew when I was in high school, and I still do. I no longer collect them, but my eldest does! :) My younger sister who's also a mother of two still collects Hello Kitty Stuff too! I am fortunate to have a happy childhood so I guess it's part of those happy memories that I just want to hold on to. :) Happy myLotting everyone! :)

My youngest is almost a teenager now that's why I don't have a chance to play for younger than her. My grandson lives far away from me too. I remember giving my youngest daughter a collection of barbie dolls when she'e young because it's my frustrations too to have them when I'm still a teenager.

I'm still young at heart, I watch cartoons, play with my son and daughter aged 8 and 10, I love to do and make small diy, crafts and models and do house repairs, I can still climb our roof like a boy, in fact I just finished primering the roof last summer and out worked my 16 year old eldest son, we should have finished painting and repairing the tree house as well if it did not start raining, yes I remember the tree house, I love the place but it needs some major repairs, have little chats and drinks with some of my boyhood friends and business associates while singing and listening to music etc...
