I just saw in the news about lots of violence going on in high schools. it is quite alarming, how people are becoming more and more violent today, even kids.. there was one who fought and beat each other up(one is now in a coma) because of a girl, and the other struck another boy with an ice pick to death..and one was another fight which killed a 14 year old. All fights were between teens below 17 years old.

here in our country, minors are somewhat not afraid to commit crimes since they are not allowed to be in jail. They will only send to social welfare. Social welfare are not allowed to hold them for more than the prescribed number of hours. They will be sent home immediately. I guess this is one of the rean why crimes are getting to young age right now. Furthermore, the influence of technology has something to do with this one. Also, parents has the responsibility to this. They should be aware in what their kids are watching or surfing the net.

You are right, sometimes, parents are the one that lead their kids to do some crimes. Sometimes, they already prepare their birth certificates so that when they are being caught by the authorities, they will just show it so that their kids will be set free and can do another crime again.

Oh, that is just awful, parents like that are what makes some youths lead a bad life. I hope parents will teach their kids well, so the youth won't be corrupted even more. Since what they teach now, is what the youth will teach heir kids in the future.

I wonder if those youngsters know between good and bad things as they are convicted for one of the bad activity. There are many things that might influence their behaviors. They can't assume whatever they saw on tv or papers are true and are allowed to do it to others. I am worried about their future.

Violence in general is just bad, and it's not just in schools, but I will agree, there is a lot of it in schools these days.
The violence in most schools is so bad that there are metal detectors and pat downs. I would be so afraid to send my children to school.
Most of my friends have opted for home school or private school because many of the public schools are so bad.

There has always been violence in high schools. It has just gotten worse over the years. Kids aren't made accountable for anything. They see violence everywhere on the net, video games, and movies. Fights between teen below 17 is about the age when kids are feeling their worst about life and people. Taking out their aggression on another kid seem almost normal to me. Not right, just normal.

I think there are a lot of stuff that make the kids what they are now. One could be their upbringing or their environment, it could also be their friends who can influence them.. and then there is the media, where violence and lots of otehr bad things can be accessed easily.

In my country there are also some bullies at school, but it's too different from other countries. Students does not do this all the time because some teachers won't allow this. The guards are there and of course the discipline committee who gives the students some lesson if they commit a mistakes, specially if it is against the law of the school. Well, we can't really say that there are no crimes committed but the bullies are sometimes having a second thought on doing such things because they know what is the ground for the things they will do. Being strict sometimes helps to avoid things like this.

We live in a violent world. With the increase in communication we are just realizing how violent the whole world is. Until we can change our cultural mind sets we will continue along this destructive path.
