Anyone can write, but not everyone can write right

So I'm starting a new career as a teacher. I've been teaching for so long in every company I've been in as a manager. This time, I'm revisiting my roots as a Trainer. I'm teaching people how to write right. Anyone can write, but not everyone can write right. I'm showing people that you don't need to be a master in literature or English to communicate well (although having a master's degree in those two is a definite plus!) All you really need is the proper attitude and a working knowledge of any language you wish to write in. Mine specializes in english. And I teach people how to write content for websites. I currently am training 7 people how to write and over the weeks they've progressed in leaps and bounds. And these are kids who weren't even writers to start with. They just had the proper attitude. I hope to share more here and help more people learn how to write right. For now, I'll leave you with this. "Be enthusiastic, be passionate, experience everything and write it down."

You are right, not everyone can write right just like me.Sometimes i like to write for my blog and i just cant find words, which i should write.I don't have vast vocabulary in English but good. When i listen new word i just try to remember and save the word to dictionary of my mind.May be i can write well but express my words or something like that.I don't where i am mistaking.

Just like any skill, writing needs to be practiced and honed. I'd advise you to always bring a notebook and pen. A voice recorder would also be good to record your thoughts. Most cellphones have voice recorders so you don't need to buy a separate gadget. And experience life. The more experiences you have, the more things you can write. Unlike a normal profession, writing is a 24/7 job. :D good luck and study hard

that is certainly true, all can write but not with precise meaning and content unless it adds some highly qualified and nurtured values for sure so there is no use in it if we dont qualify it for sure

that's where proofreading comes in. if you spend 10 minutes writing, you should spend 20 minutes proofreading.

This is so true. I wish I had a dollar for every discussion here that asks 'where can I earn money for writing?' People think it's an easy way to earn, but even for a good writer, it can be difficult to earn a living as a freelancer. It's not just about getting the words on the screen, they have to be the write words for the tone and slant of the piece, and the grammar and context has to be the best. I realise that not everyone can write well, and it is a skill that can be learned. What annoys me is people who whine that nobody will pay them for writing, when it's obvious from their posts that they really can't write well.

my advice to whiners: "practice." my advice to winners: "practice" writing is difficult. being a writer is more difficult. if they made the choice to become writers, they shouldn't complain. :D

Thank you for the very encouraging words. my sessions also have other activities that let the writers experience things in a controlled environment. Nothing beats experience when it comes to writing.

visavis --thanks . i have seen that the ability of people to write has been increasing steadily over a length of time. Practice makes man perfect. anything done continuously say for a period for 42 days becomes your practice and you are at home with it. good day.

Yes i second your thought. Everyone can speak and write English but not all can do so with clarity and with precision. In order to do so, one has to be strong willed and determined to learn everything that comes his way. This will help him in finetuning and polishing his English skills. What say?

I try to develop easy ways to aid me in my writings. It is quite true, that most people don't take the time to learn to write properly; even when they're trying to earn from their writings. There are so many writing tools available here on the internet that one can use to improve their writing style.

hi chipesterkhan you write so well no wonder you can teach others to write right. It must be so rewarding too to see your students progress like that.Like most thing you study you must have the proper attitude for sure. that last line is something like what my college writing instructor told us too. I was told I had passion for my fiction writing but alas its not helped me to sell anything.

oh yeah i've been lucky enough to have these students. at first it was a rough uphill battle getting them in the right frame of mind. so far it's been smooth sailing, with a couple of bumps every now and then. :D and if you haven't sold anything yet, well let's just say you'll have to try and try again. p.s. if it's any consolation, you've actually sold something to me already. The fire to write and write on mylot. and i thank you for that my dear friend :D

Learning how to write right is certainly a job sometimes. Learning how to communicate affectively is all important. My favorite part of writing is the research. I love to find out information and manipulate it on the page to make for an interesting read. That's what is fun to me! Journaling is very important too and I find Mylot to be a nice place to do parts of that.

Agreed. Seems like the correct writing techniques aren't being enforced. Either that or people just don't care. Seems like it might be the latter reason. Regardless, I also want to teach -- English, specifically. Writing is my forte and I have a love for grammar, even if it isn't my forte.

Everyone can be a teacher. It was a good thing that you are sharing your skills. The only thing you need is to know the basic English grammar usage. Then, writing skills can be a remarkable progress with passion.

Yes going in right direction is wright. What ever you do is need to considered with passion and adventurism. You can do what you want to do in life, but for whatever you do you need passion. What you have is not important but what you know is important.

I've found many people can write, but doing it properly is not easy. Many people don't know the components of grammar and in today's educational system the importance is placed more on expression than on proper usage. The "new" English style tends to ignore spelling and correct sentence structure. Anything close to the proper spelling appears to be acceptable. Unfortunately, texting has developed a whole new language that has nothing to do with proper English. The thing most of us forget, not all language composition is the same. German compared to English is totally different. English is the hardest of the languages to learn. Obviously, where you write and what language has a bearing on the website or any communication. Whatever you choose to do with your teaching ability, good luck. And I agree, editing is more important than the original written composition.

Well I agree with you not everyone is a writer such as myself . Even though I am currently doing my bachelor I would not call myself a writer but I get my point across and thats really what matter to me. Teachers are generally more enthusiastic about teaching/learning than people who wish to become lawyers . Continue to follow your dreams and you will reach the people you want , all the best .

This is the right discussion I need now. I tried to get accepted as a new member to postloop.com and I did my best efforts to write the 10 quality responds required at the beginning. After some hours I got a notification saying my grammar was too poor and I will never get another chance !! I am so disappointed because I used only present simple , past simple and present progressive forms of verbs (I did it to avoid complicated grammar rules and I think I did it just fine). How could my grammar be too poor ? damit !! Can you tell me some tips about having an excellent grammar ? I hope the support team will be more descriptive about my poor grammar. I thought grammar means only how to write according to the rules like active and passive forms of verbs , using verb Be in the right way , use "have" or "has" in the right way and etc...use the past simple form of verb combining "did" , how to write the past simple form of a verb (adding "ed" or just "d" as needed , remember special verbs like "read" , "run")...

well my basic rule of thumb when it comes to writing is: if you don't use it in normal daily conversations, don't use it. I'm not an expert in grammar. I would recommend you read one of Hemingway's books. You'll see just how simple he wrote and how effective it is. The simpler, the better.

no no no sorry i didn't mean to sound like you should leave it... i meant, practice english til you're comfortable enough to use it everyday. and use simple words. simple is better. and clearer

It's like you say I better leave it because English is not the language I use everyday. It is not my main language. What are Hemingway's books ? Do you think I can read them and improve my grammar ? Thanks for the advice. I will use it. Not necessarily with Hemingway's books, but I will find texts to learn from. I just thought my grammar was fine and I discovered it was poor.

You are definitely right. Everybody can write, even a primary students can write. But most probably they are not following the proper sequence of morphology and syntax. They are not able to express their ideas in the most effective way. Of course another thing to be considered would be the semantics or meaning. With proper knowledge of content words and function words, then added up with these linguistic knowledge and some experience. Then one should be able to write it right. I am taking my bachelor's degree in language and communication by the way.
