i really don't understand why i always fail whenever i've thought i did something good or better; that happens when i have interviews or when i take examinations. after the first time it happened to me, i promised myself that i won't expect anymore. but i really can't help myself to be hopeful especially if i know that i did good. unfortunately, whenever i feel that way, the results often turn out to be a failure. whereas, when i don't feel confident and find the interview or exams difficult, that's the time i get to pass. is there a psychological reason or explanation behind that? does it happen to you, too?

that happens to me too but then i just think that i guess things happen for a reason even though sometimes we hate it so much and don't see the reason why it had to happen. i just tell myself to be better and do my best so that way we don't regret it. and also there are some factors as to why we think we fail, we can't please everybody. during interviews, even if we know in ourselves that we did great, we still fail in the end because of that factor.
we have to keep going, i guess life really does go on even though times like when you feel like giving up already occur... whew life does suck sometimes

that's actually the same thought that runs my mind. everything, good or bad, happens for a reason. and i know that we really need to pass failures on our way to success. anyway, they aren't there for nothing. failures have a great purpose; they can make a us truly great, only if we know how to cope. indeed, failing is the real test we need to pass. and you're right, we need to keep going and triumph over failures. if it strikes, try harder and harder til we become great. quitting should never be an option. thank you cherish! have a good day. :)

I guess it's overconfidence. But I think there's nothing wrong with being hopeful and expectant of positive things. I myself am always hopeful that things would turn out great. Whether passing an exam or getting the job I applied for. But I do prepare myself for the possibility of failing (Although it really is a bit of a bummer when we fail) I'm not sure though about the psychological aspect behind this. I'm more inclined to believe in that it's more on a person's preparation. I mean, sometimes we think we've prepared enough say for a test, but in actuality, we haven't done so, and so we fail. Besides, they say that the true test of character is not about failing, but how we cope with that failure

i strongly agree to the very last statement you've made. indeed, it's not about failing. i know that we really come to pass failures on our way to success. there are actually a lot of people who have failed many times before they have been considered great. besides, i believe that journey matters more than the destination.

Hi dear mylzcantor08,regarding the your fail interviews or examinations,I think the reason why you try so hard but still fail may be is because your are not good at this subject, and when you think some interview or exams is difficult but you pass finally may be is because your are specialize in those subjects.Any way, everything will need some good luck, luck aslo is a part of your ability,do you think so?

hi! i regret to inform you that i don't believe in luck. in my religion, we are discouraged on believing and relying in luck. we consider everything as a blessing, be it good or bad. every single event that happens must be connected to another. they are like pieces of a puzzle; each serves a purpose,no matter how distorted it is. each is necessary to complete the puzzle and see its entire beauty.

Please do not hate me, but I am firm believer in positive visualization and saying positive affirmations to yourself in getting what you want.
Have you ever remembered someone you havent met perhaps for a long time? And the thought is not continued then somehow within a day or two, you meet this person that you remembered?
This happens to me a lot and I read that it is the brain magnet effect.
When you feel confident, do you cut your thoughts with negativity?

I think this has to do with the motto "aim high, shoot low." For everything that you have to do, especially those that will significantly affect your life, you must strive to give it your best shot but without setting your hopes too high. For example when taking an exam, you need to give it enough time to prepare, stay focused to learn all information that you think will be included, and do things that you know will help sharpen your memory and maintain your overall health. Review as though you are aiming to rank no. 1 in the exam. But once the exam is finished, you will then switch to the mindset that merely passing the exam will make you happy.

Ya that happens a lot....
after givin an exam i also always think bout the result....
and almost 50% of the tym only negative thoughts only comes to my mind..
best solution is to stop thinking bout the result bcz result aint gonna change no matter how much v think bout it....

The old saying, do not expect too high, or you get disappointed too high too. I never expect things to be perfect, up to my standard, the way I want it to be. But I will do my best to accomplish it. Anyway, there is no scientific way to explain why and how it happen that way. I think you just got luck!

No,never.I have passed all my exams in schools and college with good marks.Actually I had started preparing for the exams at the outset of each session. So one thing that I was sure of was that I would pass, and that too with good marks. If you are well prepared, you can never be doubtful about your success.I think, you must be lacking self confidence.Or,may be,you don't have the habit of preparing for the exam from the beginning of the session every year.

That happened to me as well. I remember when I took my board exams, I wasn't confident that I will pass because it was so difficult but thank God I did. Also with interviews, that happened to me as well. But I truly believe it is coincidental that it happened.
