Sadly I'm not interested, cause I'm not into sports much anyways. I also found out that two of my favorite TV shows (back to back ones) that I watch on Mondays & Tuesdays will now be repeats for the sake of the Olympics. Plus another one won't be on for another few weeks due to them as well. Not good news for me. I'm rather picky what I watch and the Olympics really aren't something that is exciting for me. What about you, do you like to watch them or are you sad like me that you're missing your other shows now?

I'll grab a movie tommorro - going out it is cheap on tuesdays.
At the opening at first I was wondering what children in beds and mary popping in had to do with olympic games but after a while got the idea as London’s way of saying celebration. That was some display very exciting. I like Mr Bean and the Mr Bond and the Queen dropping out of the helilo but didn’t think she looked happy about it, not sure why, maybe she was not feeling well but so good she is able to get around like she does at her age.
Now I’m watching olympics off and on what ever comes on the screen when I pass from room to room. All the athletics are awesome. Two girls from my country received a bronze metal. Many try so hard and that is what really matters. Giving your best and good participant-ship.

Yes I heard about that and that the theme song with those kids in beds was the Exorcist, sounded kind of odd I must admit. London does have it's own spin on things, and I guess some people liked it. I missed it, I would love to see that scene if it's shown on youtube anywhere. I think the athletics can be awesome, but I just can't set my mind on it right now.Congrats on the girls from your country recieving a bronze metal. They all do try very hard and I admire each one of them for giving it their best go.

The Queen never looks happy these days. Maybe it's being married to a grumpy old man. lol
Still, I thought she was a great sport in acting out that spoof parachute scene. Great Opening to the Olympics, even to an old septic like me.

Yes, I wasn't too excited about them before they started, due to the extortionate amount of money it's costing our city to host them. Could have been spent so much better elsewhere, on our healthcare system, education etc. etc. And while I still think that, I am being drawn in!!
The opening ceremony was so fantastic. We watched it over and over again. It was magical and passionate and a good (and optimistic) reflection of British life. And I'm loving the gymnastics, swimming and diving, when I get a chance to watch them. I'm hoping I'll manage to catch more before it's finished. But I'm also looking forward to the closing ceremony and hoping it'll be just as exciting as the opening one was.

Extortionate amount of money, ha, that sounds like what my medical bills are costing me nowadays. It does get ridiculous. I agree with the healthcare system, education, etc we need it first in. And it still draws you in, imagine that. I'm glad you like the opening ceremony, it was worth the cost there, huh? I might get to watch the closing ceremony as I have heard nothing bad about the opening one really in most ways.

Everyone is watching the olympics, especially the people who love sports. Each country represents their own team of players, in which every nation would cheer for their designated players. In the olympics, we get to see the best of every nation and we feel proud if our country can win some medals. You should try watching it, in order for you to understand the beauty and importance of sports that brings peace to every nation. :)

Yes lots of them do watch it but not everyone. Loving sports is a good thing, there are many people who do. Not here though, the TV is rather used for other shows. I know it also about the countries not only sports so will still root for my own country without having to watch it all. Maybe I can hear on the news how my country is doing and they can show all the important parts on there.

Before when I was in school I used to watch the olympics. What really annoys me is that they will cut some of the shows that I really love to watch just to give way to the olympics. I was happy then especially when the sports they show is one of my type. But when the event they are showing is not of my interest, I would rather turn off the tv and have some walk outside.

Maybe that is the reason why they put some events on tape because some sports channels showed it already live. However, sports channel cannot show all the events happening in the olympics.
Yes, walking around is healthy, and one of the cheapest form of exercise.

I watched them a long time ago when younger cause my family seemed to be interested in them somewhat, but not nowadays. I'm just not having the time to bother. Yes, it is annoying to cut the other shows off that were on NBC (here) to show them, perhaps they should give them the sports channels. Walking outside is better for your health anyways, so it might even benefit you that they are on and not your fave shows right now. I don't do much walking myself but should.

i'm so sorry canada lost both of those games. maybe they can still catch up perhaps if they try harder. how did the gymnastics go? any canadians do any better? it is impossible to be into every sport, so i think everyone has their own favorites they try to get to see.

I am enjoying the Olympics very much right now. I am quite interested in the variety of sports. Of course I am well aware of the classics - gymnastics, swimming and diving, and track and field. But, I saw some things that I have never seen before. This is making the Olympics interesting right now. But watching those skilled athletes participating in the traditional events is as exciting as ever. It is good television for me.

I have no idea what things you saw that you have never seen before, can you explain more? I would like to know what I'm missing too. Hehehe. I think if everyone else was interested in this house I might watch here and there but they aren't. Just used to their old routine of shows, nothing changes up for them.

Yes, I love watching the Olympics. I am not someone who constantly does sport or more physical activities but I like watching the swimming, synchronized diving, gymnastics, archery, beach volleyball, and equestrian. Sadly I haven't seen the equestrian event being covered in any of the channels here. The opening ceremony was awesome and I was a bit teary-eyed. I also like events like the Olympics because they show different nations coming together.

I'm glad you have been getting something out of the Olympics, I'm sure many people are as it's popular. Those sports you just mentioned are really fun. I have no clue about the equestrian event, maybe it will be on later or something.I have heard alot of good things about the opening ceremony.

Actually I am one of those people that do watch the Olympics so this isn't something that is going to be bothering me at all. In fact, I find that this part of the year is actually pretty dry when it comes to new episodes of television shows anyway so it is a great thing that there are the Olympics to watch so that there is something fresh that can be watched on television.
If I wasn't an Olympics fan, I would still be able to find plenty to watch on tv because of the fact that we have digital cable with several hundred different channels.

Hi, I'm glad you're getting the most out of the TV season now with the Olympics and all. I have digital TV here too. I just didn't wanna watch what the brother always watches on that either such as his Pawn Stars, American Pickers, Lizard Lick, etc. He watches them so much I get so sick of them. I managed to watch 2 episodes of PS and one show of LL though, that is all I can take for a short time.

Well the Olympics are in my home country and as a lover of sport I have been engrossed. Particularly in the womens beach volleyball. They amaze me with their athleticism and in the bravery they have shown in refusing to cover up. Despite being allowed to wear t-shirts and shorts they have opted to stick with the skimpy bikinis. I do believe there is a god!

Good for you, & now I think I should have DVR'd some of it just to see what is happening here and there. It's not all that cumbersome to watch if I remember right. LOL at the skimpy bikinis, it must be alot of women choosing to wear those. I would love to see the men in their skivies too.

Well i have not missed a single action from Olympics as it comes once in every 4 years and gives me a good opportunity to watch so many world class players in different sports. i have even sacrificed my favorites shows and soaps just for the Olympics.

Kool, then you are witnessing a piece of history with not missing any of it. I'm regretting not seeing a few snippets at least. Perhaps I will DVR some, you've all caught me off guard and now I'm interested, a tiny amount. Yes, it must be very important to you to sacrifice your fave soaps and shows, here they have either post poned one of mine or put repeats of the others on for 2 weeks.

I like to watch the olympics, it is really fun to see all country "fighting" for gold medal. I watched weight lifting yesterday and I feel good. And in the morning I watched badminton.

I think it might be fun if I had someone to watch it with, but since we only have one TV here anyways and it usually taken over at night by my jerk brother who I actually can't stand for long I miss alot at night to watch even by myself. Last night was one rare exception though, I actually had two full hours of it to call my own, it was like it was my birthday LOL. He was a jerk to me earlier and I decided to put my show on instead of his like usual.

I am not generally a sport fan but I love watching Olympics whenever it aired . My favorite shows are pushed to a later time also and will not repeat . I only really watch when I am interested in a particular country performance , the star performers . Dont worry your show will be back in the mean time you could try other shows and online shows.

Me neither, never was good at sports except maybe fishing and basketball if anything as a younger kid or teen. I'm sure you will watch for your favorite countries though, that is natural for some. I did try to watch another show on another channel, we managed to agree on watching a show called Pawn Stars which is about a Pawn shop and what they get there to trade and sell. It can be entertaining. I didn't wanna watch the other show after the first hour too much called Lizard Lick or whatever it is, too kind of not for me for one hours worth of my time for my tastes LOL.

I don't watch coz checking the score card list i got disappointed with my country as its still zero. Maybe if my country is soaring high with the score then probably i will watch it to support our team.

hi nailtech,
me too. i don't watch much of the olympics unless i happen to be really free.
i'm not too much of a sports person. i do however like to watch the gymnast games. Having said that, i won't go and find out exactly the timing of the games. i'll just watch it if i happen to turn to it. Otherwise, still not.
and sadly yes, because the olympics are now on, many usual shows are being on-hold for the moment. But fret not. it'll be only for a week or two.

Gymnast sports are fun to watch sometimes, I have seen the regular kind of those on TV. They are so agile and very fit to do what they do. I envy some of them. I ended up watching a few different shows so it was OK. I didn't want to watch the same old repeats of my faves.

Hi NailTech
To be honest I never have a chance to see Olympic games on TV but I heard from my other colleagues about it. Even though I'm not an athletic type of person I'm little interested to see Olympic Games..:)

It's OK, I don't watch much TV, either. Just when my "reality" shows go on it's like I miss them if they aren't on for a week or two, it's hard to catch up to them that way and remember what happened before they were cut off, so abruptly. Oh well, I will manage.
