Sadly to say that unfortunately I gave up searching for that cure also, facebook no longer bringing back the old design. but I feel the same, I feel like i'm safe on the old one and on the new one there are so many thing going on, on my timeline. I hope Mark realize he must create option on his facebook website.

I opted to use the time line. to start off with I didn't like it. But as friends were on it, I kepted going back to their wall to see if I could understand. Over time, I got use to it. That was when I changed over. The key to it all is looking down the middle where the line is. Each time you come to a dot, you will see a post next to it on one side or the other. But there will be an arrow point to each dot. Take your time to get use to it. There are benefits of other features too like using different lists. Oh, and you can also unfriend any one who has deactivated their accounts. I found this one really funny. I had a friend, well former friend now. She told me that she could reactivate her account to see what I say on my wall. When I read that via text message, I giggled and said to myself, good luck because I have unfriended you.

It hasn't happened to me yet, but I have friends that got "converted" just like that. I don't think they did anything - just POOF, it happened one day and there was nothing they could do about it. Yah, I don't particularly timeline either, but they say everyone will one day be converted. I don't know about the difference in security features - but I just don't like the design of it. I've already picked out the "big" cover photo that I would use once they hit me with it. So I guess my best advice would be - there's nothing you can do about it - so make the most of it . . . if you want to keep on with Facebook, go with the flow, and timeline or not your friends will still be your friends!

Unfortunately Facebook isn't giving you an option. They are jamming this change down your throat, because it benefits them. Don't be disappointed to see more changes like this, because its all about creating revenue now that they have gone public.
