IF everybody in every country all spoke the same language how different do you think the world would be? What advantages and disadvantages Can you think of? Maybe life would become easier. There would be no Translators and no need for. subs in watching Movies. Can this be so great? Hehe

Well though it has many advantages as we might get to think of something like that but then I think world would have been a little bit boring. For instance, we like talking about others, not necessarily bad things, in some other language in front of them itself. For that matter we even try and invent something new. It is sometimes funny to see them puzzled with their full concentration on what we are speaking.
I take the world as it is and I feel everything is in the most appropriate order it could have been.

I think that would be great if we all speak the same language but couldn't been more better if we have the same culture.

Hi Eseulhan, while that is good, it means that many traditions and cultures will be lost.
If you think of the way that people think and speak, you can see how deeply they are affected by the upbringing, and the culture that they were immersed from young.
Many Chinese still speak English as though they are translating their mother tongue into English in their mind.
The way they describe things tells you that they are Chinese at heart.

this is a good discussion. I never though of it too. by that then maybe we can understand what everybody is saying and maybe have less fights? I really cannot imagine a world with just one language

It would have it's pros and cons I guess. The good things about it would be everyone would be able to communicate with each other better although I believe that wouldn't solve issues quicker as it really depends on how they were brought up and their culture/environment.But,yes it would be a great sight to see. Some of the disadvantages of this would be, like it would be pretty boring. Now, we have many languages and many cultures which makes life so much more interesting. Also, as we have different languages, life is much more interesting.Personally,I wouldn't prefer everyone speaking the same language but it depends on the person and how he/she feels.

life would sure be easier if we all spoke the same language. This would make communication a whole lot easier. For example, conflicts between nations could end by breaking down language barriers.

haha i think that is really cool if we all speak the same language. there would probably be a lot more of things we can do, and a lot less confusion(especially if understanding has been built right from the start.)
I guess that life is going to be easy for every one across the globe too because people won't have a hard time trying to understand the language and focus on other things more.

Behind each language is a treasure chest of rich culture and long history. If everyone start using only say English, then those precious culture and history will be gone. Yes, people will understand each other better but that is no replacement for what is lost. My opinion is that every language should be kept and everyone made to learn a common second or third language.

Yeah good question, if everybody speaks the same language, there will be no need to worry about learning other languages and don't hesitate to speak with people in other countries, perticularly it is very helpful in terms of communication with clients and we can explain easily and we can have more friends.

I am not so sure but in my own opinion, the dialect that we have depends on the structure of our jaw or mouth perhaps. There are other countries that can not speak some letters in the English alphabet. For example is the letter R. So, perhaps the dialect that they had created is the one suited for them.
But with the new technology, there is a possibility that we can really have one language all over the world.

hahaha.i never thought of that huh..but anyway, the advantage is that we don't need to study other language and will not hesitate to go to other country because of that(hahaha).. the disadvantage is that, there will be less job opportunities(you know what i mean) .hahaha..does that make sense at all?
