I use coconut milk instead of coconut powder on dishes. We rarely use it, but if someone in the family is in the mood to eat a curry type of dish, I would gladly cook and use coconut milk in it.

I have never heard of coconut powder. I use coconut oil for many things. As Augustinev said, it is very healthy. It is being used to help treat Alzheimer's patients and it seems to be reversing the effects of Alzheimer's. But I would like very much to find powdered coconut. I love coconut. Also, the islands of Tokelau, NZ are converting to solar power and using coconut oil to fuel the generators charging the batteries. The article said they have plenty of coconuts on the islands. What an amazing thing the coconut is!

I like fresh grated coconut juice because there's no artifical and chemicals added but if its not available I can also use powdered coconut. The taste little bit different but with some addition spices the taste will become fine and tasty too. There are times that I used powdered coconut to my mixed vegetables as a side dish and the taste was good.

It depends on the dish. Spicy dishes and coconut powder are good combination. It's also good on curry dishes. But it taste awful when you combine coconut powder with tomato sauce based dishes.

Here in our country, foods with coconut milk is a well-known dishes in some areas of the country. However, it is good to use the fresh coconut milk (grated matured coconut meat then pressed to get the extract) rather than using the powdered ones. There are also available powder and liquid form in the market making use of coconut milk easier but I still rather use the conventional way of having coconut milk.

We don't put coconut powder in every dishes we cook. There were some dishes only that needs such. For the past months I have eaten any dish that has coconut powder in it. But I would like to make one sometime.
