Last night in La Verne, CA, I felt an earthquake on the third floor of my Grandmother's apartment. This morning, I felt two earthquakes in Pomona.
I found out that they were both centered in Yorba Linda, CA.
Has anyone ever been in or felt earthquakes before? If so, how strong, when, where, and what were your overall thoughts on it.

China gets earthquakes, right? Yes, I know that China has natural disasters, but I was wondering if earthquakes might be one of those.
I am teaching students from China right now, and we haven't gone over natural disasters yet, but I would love to hear their take on it. You might be able to enlighten me about natural disasters in China?

We had one not too long ago but it wasn't strong. It did shake the house a little but it wasn't actually close to us it was much firther out. Melbourne doesn't usually get earthquakes thankfully.
When I was visiting Cali I didn't get to experience any earthquakes there, must of liked me so behaved

Yes, California is notorious for having earthquakes.
I have heard that Australia gets earthquakes, but I didn't think that you all get that many, right?

yes i was in the 1989 earthquake. i was living and working 2 jobs in Concord. close to San francisco. i had just went to my second job and clocked in when things started swirling, shaking. i thought i was just tired and dizzy, so i went to my bosses door and she said, its an earthquake. stand right there in the door. It scared me so bad, having never experienced it before that i couldnt leave california soon enough!! i was gone 2 weeks later back to my good old Ohio state.

I was four when that earthquake happened, and I heard that that was a very scary earthquake. We felt the aftershocks.
They can be very scary, especially if you haven't felt them in a long time, and then all of the sudden you have one, and you never know how strong it will be and how long it will last.

We don't notice it, but the West Coast shakes all the time. An earthquake has to get up to about 3 on the Richter scale before we even feel it. Two shakes of that intensity might be 'preshocks', but most likely there won't be anything more come of it soon. If you would like to learn more about earthquakes, you might want to have a look at the U.S. Geological Survey site. http://www.earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/

You live in NoCal, so that's why you didn't feel it, but those of us who live in SoCal did. No, I know that we get earthquakes here all of the time, but I haven't felt quakes like these in along time. These felt like jolts and tugs. They were pretty deep.

Yeah, I know that Japan and the Philippines can get some real nasty earthquakes, and they are very scary, not to mention that the ground shakes for days.
Everyone here is fine, but it's just always strange when we get one.
