Do you get in a habit of making lunch or supper for work?

I never did for years, as my one job we had a pile of food infront of us, my other jobs usually arnt long hours, so I would either bring a small snack such as a granola bar, or something. My new job I got in trouble for just bringing water, and a snack. They told me to bring a big lunch. I dont know what to bring a lot of time, but they usually critice your food, and make faces. I brought the other day yogurt, fruit cut up, sushi, and some small snacks. But that could get expensive. Today I packed some macroni I made, chicken, and fruit with water.
Usually the shifts are 5 - 8 hours and if I have cold water Im fine. But they insist bringing a lunch for 10 basically they bring food that would last me 3 days.

well most people bring a good lunch it is not good to go without eating, it is not good for your health. You don't have to eat for three but you do have to eat well.

I don't see why your getting in trouble for not bringing a lunch. I mean I can understand them being concerned, but you know your body and what you can and can't take. You may be able to still function and be alright without eating, while others maybe not.
The only way I see it is if you were to pass out at work. Who knows maybe they've had too many people passing out on the job.

I don't. But my Mom cooks for the whole family every morning, so I can bring my lunch everyday. I think, we get benefit from bringing our lunch. Cost saving, healthy food, complete nutrition compotition :)

I normally prepare my lunch for work the night before going to bed and I will just cook rice in the morning before going to work to put in my lunch box. Food I prepared are with sauce or rice toppings so that it's a full lunch for me.

I used to bring my own food that I can just re-heat at the pantry. I just prepare it the night before and just pack it and put it in the fridge, pop it in the fridge in the pantry until lunch time. Our cafeteria food is just not to my liking; plus I don;t know how these are prepared. Also, it tends to be a bit more expensive than when I prepare my lunch myself.

The last place I worked at before my current job was really horrible and they didnt let us have breaks when we legally could have had them so sometimes we wouldnt bother habing a break to eat as were were nearly finished by the time we was allowed a break.
When we was lucky to get a decent break most days I prepared my own sandwiches to eat in the break area but there was a supermarket across the road which I used more often than not.

No, but it's a lot better to do so. I never bring any lunch and when lunch time comes around it's a hassle to try to figure out what you want to eat without spending too much money. I work in a really popular area and every thing is so expensive. I always tell myself I will bring my lunch to avoid the hassle, but I never do because I always forget or I am too lazy. I am out really long hours so for me it would be smart to do it. I sometimes take fruit and things like that, but in our office we have a lot of snacks that the company provides so we sometimes get by with just that, but we all go buy our lunch most of the time. A lot of the people bring their lunch too.
