I agree with you. Although there is such a thing as good or bad luck that accounts for some of what happens to us, most of what we are is something we have to work for. From the beginning, we must decice what do we want out of life, what are our goals. And then , we must toil to reach them.

Success --definition differs from individual to individual. For the same person the definition changes from time to time. One has to put in work to get success. Some people lucky to be in right place to achieve success. A few others are less lucky they reach the place delayedly and though they work hard they do not get successes.
In my view we have to have a focus, plan, think, and execute plans to achieve success. degree of success may be different.

I know that you made a typo when you wrote 'scarificing' but that is true too because the road to success has many bumps and leaves us with many scars along the way before we reach our goal.

yes, my keyboard problem, i didnt even realize that the discussion was submitted.
The success without any bumps are not very interesting , the journey becomes more adventurous with more hurdles

Absolutely right.Success is not the outcome of any accident.Accidents,at best, are chances. For example,if you win the bumper prize of a lottery, you can't define it as your success. It is just a chance,or,say, your luck.In contrast,if you succeed in clearing an exam, winning the gold medal in the Olympics or achieving something valuable, you would have to work hard.Without hard work you can't make your dream come true. You would have to sacrifice your rest, learn a lot and work hard to realize your dream.I agree with you.

It really depends on your definition of success. I have seen that the most successful people aren't the hardest workers. They are the people who know how to get others to work hard for them.
