I'm home

Hi folks! I'm home and walking on a walker. I'm still as weak and limp as a dish rag. I can't talk much because it saps my energy and I start to de oxygenate in my blood. I was in ICU for 6 days. My daughter is my caregiver and she is doing a great job. I'm up in a chair with my swollen feet propped up on an ottoman with a pillow on top. I go to my pulmonologist on Wednesday and the following Wed I will go to my regular doctor. The bi pap machine is my life support while I sleep. It keeps up with two pressures which is my carbon dioxide level and my oxygen level. The doc explained I make too much CO2 when I sleep. Anyway my gall bladder surgery went well. The doc said it was rotten and almost gangrene. Doc said I was a house of cards. I could have died from that. My body had created a pocket to isolate the rotten gall bladder from my insides. After surgery they couldn't wake me up out of general anesthesia. They gave me Narcan but it didn't work. From what I understand they were going to incubate me and put me on a respirator but they tried the bi pap and it worked. That's all I can think of right now. I love all my friends. Love you, Love me

Oh right, I was wondering what kind of device you were using in order to communicate with us and now I know. Good for you!

Thanks! I love you too Janey. I'll never be like other people. Talking and eating wears me out. This is why mylot is a good outlet for me. I don't have to use my voice. I'm just using my iPhone.

I'm glad you're back home and all of that is behind you! My sister is on oxygen all the time. I am amazed at times what medical science can do to keep people going. There was a time when they couldn't.

I am so pleased to see you back PQ! Gosh why does life have to be so complicated for some people? Please don't spend your time worrying about what might happen because it might not. Be positive! You pulled through all of this and you will get through the rest too!

PQ, happy to hear you are back and fine again. Indeed, nowadays the medical field had improved a lot. This is my first time heard there is a machine to take care of your oxygen while you are asleep. Take your time to reply in here, when you are not feeling well. Do take good care of yourself and always eat well.

It good to be at home. The best caregiver is your own beloved daughter. The nurses at the best most expensive hospital cannot give the best service when compared to your own daughter. Right now you need plenty of rest, understanding and most of all love. God bless you and have a speedy recovery.

Hi, you are so blessed to have a kind wonderful daughter to serve you in time of needs. When she was a tiny little baby you take care of her, bathe, change her nappies when she soiled and feed her. Now she takes care of you. God bless her and you too.

Hiya kiddo, sorry to respond so tardily but I try to keep busy and I'm having trouble with my typing at the moment...aching right arm. So glad you made it back, I was unaware of your actual condition so this post is an eye opener. You don't do things by halves do you girl? Your family are right telling you not to worry..you are prone to that and it can't be good for you. Try and concentrate on the amazing positives in your life at the moment. Take care and be good to yourself.

It really does sound like you didn't have a good reaction to the anethesia that they put you under for your surgery. However, it also sounds like they did a great job with finally getting you to wake up and also getting your very sick organ out of your body. I certainly hope that you are able to fully recover from all of the trauma that your body has gone through pretty soon.

Hi Doran, I'm doing lots better but still have some issues with my lungs and with eating. I have to eat quite bland or I get sick just a few minutes after I eat. I still am unable to do much in the house but I do dishes and make my bed and do a little sweeping. I take the trash out and move the bins to the road fir weekly pick up. I get short of breath and sweat a lot but I figure the more I do I will get better.

I was sick for a long time but didn't know it. My gall bladder had rotted and was just days from turning into gangrene. I had emergency surgery. It wasn't caused by anything I did or didn't do. It just happened. Then after surgery the recovery crew couldn't wake me up. I went into respiratory failure. That is what I am dealing with now. They used a bi pap machine to get me to breathing and now I am home with it. I will have it fir life when I go to sleep.
