Laymen, not related to medical profession always say that they are afraid to undergo procedures under anesthesia because it will affect our memory. Others say, "No it won't". But when I undergone colonoscopy and endoscopy, I experienced one to two weeks mentally blocked or can't right away remember things. Is it because of the anesthesia? Any opinion from the experts? I will be undergoing the same procedure, months from now.

After surgery, many people experience short-term delirium and/or longer-term cognitive decline. Yes, anesthesia definitely can affect memory. The medical name for the problem is Post Operative Cognitive Dysfunction (POCD), which encompasses impairment of both memory and concentration. I encountered patients with POCD and my mom is one of those. She gave birth three times under C-Section.

I think the right term for this one is anesthetic, anesthesia is the state you will undergone after being treated with anesthetics.
I guess, some really said that once you get operated or given anesthetic, you will have some memory loss. I don't know if it is true but based on my observation, it is true.
