Some people dream of being rich and famous. Other people think it's wrong - evil even - to wish for fame and fortune. BIG success is life on your own terms. There's no judgment in that definition. Your vision of BIG SUCCESS is all yours. Own it. Now I am Asking you, DO YOU WANT TO BE RICH AND FAMOUS OR LEAD A "REGULAR" LIFE? Post your comment now.

My contention is that each one of us must have an ambition in his or her life.I too have my ambition. My answer to your question is,I want both.I want to earn a lot of money. Also I want to be famous, but at the same time I like to live as simple a life as I am living now.Despite being rich and famous I want to be accessible for anybody who wants to meet me or is seeking some help from me.Living a simple life has been my highest ambition. In my opinion, there is no point in being rich and famous if your wealth and fame make you inaccessible to the persons who need your help.

I can truly identify with your response else22. I, too, responded with "both" as my answer. And I would definitely not forget from whence I came, as it is those with the same roots that I would instantly assist in living the same good life.

Some people forget where they came from when everything they wish for was granted.

I want to be rich AND lead a regular life. I want to be able to afford a couple of homes and pay cash for them. I want to pay cash for my childrens education. I want to be able to travel paying cash as I go and I want to do whatever I want when I want and not have to worry about money.
That to me is being rich and leading a regular life.

Will you really be happy if you can afford a lot of things ? You will easily pay for your children , they won't see life is hard , no challenges , they will take things for granted and have less value for what they achieve by themselves. It's all in your head : if you teach your kids to like working and using their head and hands and skills , to solve problems life give them , they will be more than happy to face life challenges. They will help each other and they will prove you that everything is possible even with no money in the pocket right now.
It will be nice if your children will work at the holiday and earn money to buy some books , learn from the books and it will be good if they can earn money for themselves and pay for their own studies. If everything comes with no hard work , there is no appreciation for things.

I do wish a regular life in which I can do what I like. I could live happily with my husband, my kids. It is not necessary for me to suffer in order to gain money. I work placidly and live comfortbally till the old age. It would be very nice when you become very old while your kids and the next, next generations play around you. A real life, an ideal life!

Of course I want to be rich and famous. Those who think that it is evil to have a dream to be rich are losers in life and they know their capabilities that they can't do it. It is like giving up hope and I have not learnt to give up my dream to have financial freedom. It comes to those who want it with their heart and not to those who don't want it. thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

Ohh really? Okay. If you have a choice between the paparazzo and tabloids and globetrotting and all of the lifestyle of the rich and famous trimmings, would you trade in the slow-er paced "normal" working-class life outside of the magnifying glass of the public? I that is your choice then you have to give up your privacy.

Sometimes sacrifice is necessary. Sometimes we need to give up to gain something. We pay in other ways to gain something.
Being rich and famous is not bad either. It can be a sign of thinking and dreaming big.
But at the end of the day, each person has his own dreams and ultimate purpose in life. As long as he or she is happy, just go with it without violating other people's freedom.:)
Good luck to all of us. Cheers! ^_^

Hey there riyauro , I think having a dream to be rich and famous and free financially is not good and I will tell you why : I will be happy if I see I can help others with actions , with talking , with teaching them how to solve their problems. Appreciation from my family members for lighting up their life is something worth more than money and is worth my effort.
Think about being poor but living a good life with a nice family with love and care , all people around you are nice and offer help , they are your good friends , you will be happy to just go out and play with a dog and pick up fruits from trees , create and build things that can help you instead of buying them...
What made you think being rich and free financially is so good ? That attitude can make a lot of bad people that have money for doing nothing useful they make the society with more and more people who feel jealous and they make life look like a race of everyone against each other. If someone wishes to be rich and free financially , I think it is selfish.

I feel that one should be happy. What makes me happy is my family.... So money and fame are not big in my book. Yes, money is a necessity and I would love to have more to be able to do things with but as long as my family is happy and together then I am happy. I would never want the burden of being famous, it seems to be alot of pressure on people and pressure leads to unhappiness. So, the "Regular" life for me it is...

Well I am a very talented actress and would love to get noticed. I don't know whether I want the fame, but I do want the career of not struggling for money and doing something that I love. I don't know whether I will ever land a role like I want to do so. Acting is a very passion of mine and I would be lost without it. I love acting so much.

Pesten, i ever wish to become rich and famous one day, if only i have the chance. But, i know it is not easy. Sometimes, it is depending on our luck and success. Now for me, leading a normal and regular life is quite great and enough. Because i don't have to worry so much and feeling panic with my life.

Though I appreciate the query, I've got little objection to entitle "regular" to the people who are NOT rich and famous. Mother Teresa wasn't rich but popular, although she used to maintain a very regular life. So is Nelson Mandela. Does money really give you the inner peace and satisfaction that a simple regular life can give you? You can visit some Buddhist monastery or KABA or any Church. Do you think that the monks and nuns are not happy there? Happiness comes from LOVE.You'll find inner peace from Love.If you don't have love, you won't find inner peace. Finally, if you don't find inner peace, being famous and rich, won't help. Happiness is inside you. If you are happy from inside, the amount material assets won't perturb your inner feeling. Thus even a "regular" life could be enjoyed. I'm not saying "money-making" being a holy ambition, is bad, but it shouldn't be the last thing you want out of your life. And popularity will isolate you from the rest of the world making you lonely.
Bless you.

Hope you can lead a regular life if you are already rich and famous. But I doubt. You will actually loss your privacy that can hinder your goal to lead regular life.

Hi pestengbata,
I personally don't like to live rich, the very word rich says 'money'. I don't say money is necessary but it should be in certain limit. Many politicians/business people are earning money and i don't know when they are going to utilize the money(generations).
Stagnant money (without any use) in a single place is nothing but a garbage.

Money and fame aren't big deals for me. I feel more satisfaction saving up for things then having them handed to me or just being able to go out and buy them. That might make me a little strange, but it is the truth. I guess I would have to say a regular life.

I wish that it was possible to be rich and to also lead a regular life. The reason that I would like to have something like this for my life is because of the fact that I don't like the fact that our family has to live from paycheck to paycheck. On the other hand though, I am not the kind of person that wants to be followed around by cameras and for that reason I don't want to be famous at all. Therefore, if I was ever to be rich, it would have to be because of hard work and not because I was a celebrity.

While I don't mind having a lot of money, I don't know why so many people think that having a lot of money would make all the bad go away. You can't buy time, you can't buy yourself better health and you can't buy honest people to be part of your life. Not to mention, being famous comes with a price. You have no privacy, you have people following you everywhere you go, and it looks like fun, but I don't think it is fun at all. I rather have a simple life; free and easy down the road I go. Can't take all the money with you when you run out of time.

Yes i want to be rich and famous, need a lots of money to fulfil every dream. But i also want to be a kind man, because when a human gets rich he forgot his past and doesn't look at others who need his help. I also want to create a happy family, money can not give us all the happiness.

Again, RICH and FAMOUS or a REGULAR LIFE? Choose one. Be mindful when you choose rich and famous, everything will change, your attitude, the way you treat people, and if you want to be famous, you don't have privacy no more. You will be a public figure. Now, think about it.

I would like my 5 minutes of fame but otherwise I am content to just lead a regular life. For my kids I would love for them to be famous, but in a good way, and remembered for doing something good in their lives.

To have something for my daily living is enough for me. I don't want to have too much of anything. But then if I was destined for that kind of living, I wouldn't refuse it also. I will use it to help other people. But regular life is still the best for me.

i wish i could be the rich, because i need to realize many good wishes, many of which need lots of money lol. but to me,money is just the ways and means to my success and happiness, not the final goal, that means money is not the much the better. and above all i will always need peace of soul. if it makes life better then i enjoy and appreciate it, or i'd rather live a simpler life.
