It is really inspiring to dream for any possibilities. I am a dreamer, aspiring to do things relative to my passion. In real life, people dreamed to be what they are now. For some reasons, people consult mediators like fortune tellers or palm readers; others acquired lucky charms: talisman, amulet, birth stones, etcetera. That includes, wishing well, offer prayers in a sacred temples. Among all the beliefs mentioned earlier, a "dream catcher" caught my attention. There are some believers took the liberty to offer it as a form of gift to someone or somebody, that brings fortune or let your personal desires come true. If this is true, I'll dream for someone to give me a dream catcher. Then, validation will be the next thing to happen.

@RubyHawk We also have here in my city. The local people believed that it is better not to buy it for oneself. It is better if someone will give it to a person as a gift. I don't believe in having a stroke of luck using the dreamcatcher.

@Shavkat No, I'd never thought about it but I do see them occasionally. The ones I see are to be hung up. they are pretty. I guess I could hang one on my deck.

@Shavkat I really adore the picture you used for this post. I love seeing all different designs of dream catchers but I don't think I personally believe they do anything. I just see them as art but if it works for others then that is awesome!

In my country, dream catchers vary one person's belief to another. One thing for sure, you can never buy it for yourself. It should be given by someone as a gift.

@VivaLaDani13 I think the dream catcher's meaning varies from one place to another.

@Shavkat That is really interesting. When I was little, someone told me that dream catchers were for people who had bad dreams. And that it was used to take away your bad dreams and give you pleasant ones. I did have one for a little while but it never worked so over time I guess I forgot about it.

Some peoples dreams do come true. But t has nothing to do with any kind of lucky charm or dream catcher. It is pure luck. In other words, the person was in the right place at the right time. Others, well, their dream comes true because they make them happen. They chase it and make it come true. But the reality is simple, not everyone is going to be exactly what they want to be. The best time to try and make a dream come true is when your young. Then you have plenty of time to make it happen. And still others actually give up on their dreams. Don't be that person.

NO dream can be achieved until a person works for it day and night. Only work and determination can help achieve that dream or what you call dream catcher theory.

How amazing! if that can be true, i also want to have a dream cather. In life, although we have dream and struggle hard for it, it's still difficult to realize it. And that's something we call destiny. That's true. Fact is fact and never lie. As a result of this, some people begin to turn to fortune tellers. Because all of us want to know our fortune better and in someway to relieve our anxiety. For some people, they will be too superstitious, attributing all things to fate and it's really a wrong idea. In a word, i also believe in god to some extent. And if possible,i hope one day i can be a dream cather, that must be a interesting experience.

Hi there Shavkat, I think that its always the most wonderful thing to keep your dreams and asirations high. You have this positive motivation and can see yourself acheiving these goals then you are that much close to gettting to them. I have not consulted with any fortune tellers, I really dont think that they are beneficial to me. I dont think that they are bad, they are just not for me. I do however believe that stones are important. Maybe only because I think that they are, but either way, I do. The dream catchers are for keeping bad dreams away, thats what I have always heard and my children have one. But I also had one once and I think it actually GAVE me bad dreams so I got rid of it!

I don't believe very much in spells, or talisman but the dreamcatcher is a nice object to have in our room. I believe instead in the power of mind, if we really think about something we really want one day we will be high chances to achieve it.

There is definately nothing wrong with dreaming. That way you know what to pray to God for.But I don't care how many lucky charms you have,(I have them too,lol ) or how many palm readers and fortune tellers you consult it will all come down(acutually up)to God's plan.Everything Happens for a reason (good or bad).....God's reason. I am part Cherokee,a tribe of the native americans and have as well as made dreamcatchers. However the story goes that the native americans put them above their children while they were sleeping to catch their bad dreams. But,it still comes to the point that the dreamcatcher will capture the bad dreams,ONLY if God wan't them to.

All my life I dreamt of becoming someone and somebody someday. Did my best to achieve that dream the best way I could. Dreaming makes one think of ways to improve his life and future for a sane person would ever dream of damaging his future.

I bought a dream catcher for my dad when I was in AZ because his health was being to fail. It hung over his bed for a very long time. It offerred comfort to him in his last days at home. When I gave the dream catcher to my dad, I told him the lore of the dream catcher. (see http://www.dream-catchers.org/ for more details) Even though my dad was Cherokee, he did seem to benefit from it. Dreams are fueled by our beliefs, we express our beliefs in physical ways sometimes by using symbols such as dream catchers. Everyone has the freedom to choose whatever gets them through; and I am not opposed to the use of dream catchers.

There is nothing wrong with having those things in our life. Perhaps they may inspire us or they may also bring what they promise. But it all boils down to yourself. How you make your dreams come true. It requires effort and not just sitting there and hoping for things to happen and for your life to change magically. We should do something to reach our dream and fulfill ur goals and make them a reality.

Cool! I am a dreamer too. I wish someone will give these charms also for fun. It's not bad even though I am already old enough to believe in these things. I wish someone will give you soon!

Dream catchers are those we put in our bed overhead so that if we fall asleep we will not dream bad things and i need it coz i always had bad dreams during my sleep, but the one you mentioned is like a life plan or wish or our dreams of what we want to have nor to be as dream catchers, though if there's mind nor wish catcher then thats what i want to have as i have a lot of wish and dream for my life that need to be come true.

I don't believe in charms for whatever they are intended for. I still believe that you could best achieve your dreams if you will work for it and find ways to make it a reality. And if you believe in The Almighty, support it with prayers and conviction.

Me too because life is what you make it and you don't bet on it. A lazy person would have nothing to expect.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dreamcatcher A lot of folks give these to children (regardless of race or believe) because the idea is that they will help (in the child's belief) stop nightmares.

There was a time I used enjoy these kind of dream-run life a lot. But now, I don't know what really happend to me, I just gone back to certain reality by experiencing many things. In fact, these days I used think how was living in such an imaginary world earlier, which has no meaning at all. It is a true fact that people who does the all such things are just folloiwng as it is a means to their life and if we closely relate to such things, those fortune tellers or palm readers; others acquired lucky charms: talisman, amulet, birth stones, etcetera - has not at all influcncing our life, but we are much concerned on it. This concern is our draw-back and the strength of those pople who are really living with it.

We have a dreamcatcher at home. My mother-in-law brought it and it's hanging in one of our vacant rooms. I'm not comfortable with it and it hasn't made any of my household's dream come true. I'd rather work on my dream rather than depend on some charms to help me with it.

Talismans, amulets birth stones are just means to earn money by cheating others. You can realize your dreams only by dint of your own hard work, foresightedness, positive thoughts and sincerity.I have a talisman on my arm.In fact,I had some problems and my youngest sister took me to a fortune teller who gave me the talisman and claimed that all my problems would soon be solved.Nothing happened. My problem is still there unsolved.
