I'm in a unit rental house alone and I am homesick, Ohh.. I think this is one of the hardest problem of a students especially if you live in a province but you need to go in city for your studies. I missed the thing I usually do at home like feeding our chicken and ducks, I missed also my family that I usually be with in our home.
I encountering lots of adjustments... I can do many thing at home but if you are not in your house you can do is only limited.
Sometimes making discussion in my spare time is my way to relieve this kind of situation. What do you do when you are homesick?
Can you share your experiences or other's experiences that you know or any suggestion, knowledge, etc.
Happy mylotting! Have a great day ahead! :)

Yes. You are probably studying in a college and are compelled to be away from your parents/home. First year --it will be really difficult. In fact many students use to cry about this. After one year or so they get used to this and they like being away from home. You are doing right think by posting discussions and responding discussions. You can also read story books, general knowledge books or try to improvise your aptitude skills.

Don't worry you'll get over it in a couple of months, and you'll have time to visit them during sem-breaks, right? I experienced that during my first couple of months in my first year in college, what I did is, I read books, and make myself busy. That's good that you are making discussions here just to express what you feel, it is one good way to relieve homesickness and you'll learn a lot in this site too. Happy mylotting!

Yeah, I also planning that but my only free day is only Sunday that is only day I have no classes. Our home is quite far took 6-7 hrs. I guess, and sometimes if there are 3 days without classes, alot of requirements given to us, so I didn't have chance to go home. :( by the way thank you for sharing have a nice day ahead! :D

Being homesick when you are alone and in a place where you are not familiar with is a normal thing.
Well, good for you since there is mylot where you can share your feelings and stay with.
Before, or I mean during my school days I only had my books with me.
I am not an outdoor person so, I only spent most of my time reading.

Hi friend, sad to hear about this, don't worry you will get holiday soon and go to your home to meet your parents and relatives, this kind of home sick is quite common to the students and the employees who are staying far away from the home, just share your worries with your friends, it will make you to feel light without issues

Well my lot is always there, its hard initially to stay away from home but you will get used to it in three months or so, then this will feel more like home and you would love and learn at your campus. Make lot of new friends and learn to be independent and responsible for yourself. I too do mylotting to pass my time, its best to vent out here than anywhere else

my suggestion is not to dwell over what you miss but what you can do to not feel so homesick. you should go out and meet new people. join a club at school or volunteer for an event. that way, you will have more to think of than just how much you miss your family.

Just concentrate in studying , my friend and gain some friends. But see to it that those friends are those that don't lead you to bad ways.
Yes, mylot is one way of getting rid of homesickness. You can always come here anytime you are lonely and needs someone to talk to. Put it in a discussion. That way , those who can relate will respond and you comment back , so you will earn from your discussion.
Earning while enjoying - that's Mylot!

I think what you are experiecning there are many others also experiencing right now. It is part of growing up and being your own independent person. That doesn't make it any easier though.
I think what might help is to drop them a short letter, letting them know how you are doing, what your new home is like and telling them you are fine but are missing them. That way there is a written connection to them. I am sure they are missing you just as much as you are missing them.
The other thing I would do is get out and walk around. Go and people watch and just get some fresh air and some free entertainment by watching the locals.

We're kind of on the same situation, but I worked and need to stay on a room for rent ever since our shifting schedule started a 12 hours a day of work. But the good part is that we take 3 days of rest-4 days of work. When I was on my first month, away from my family, I cry whenever I'm alone (and even when I'm traveling to work on a jeepney -I cry-) As time passes by, I got used to and if ever there comes a time that I feel sad, I just go and have a chit-chat with my room-mates.
By the way, I love watching baby chicks and baby ducks (they're such a cutie). I know that sooner you'll adjust and get used to your situation now :D Goodluck with your studies. Have fun!
