Hi, When I was in my Philosophy class, to live life to the fullest, here and now, a common belief for Humanist, Taoist and mainstream Atheists. It is quite opposite to living for what is to come, to wait for the after life, if there is one. The idea is attractive to most since nobody is really sure if there s still tomorrow or there is an afterlife beyond this existence. For practical reasons, there's no point in waiting for things to come if it can be lived in the moment, just make it sure that one's action may not result in some regrets when time runs out in the end, at least it is a life lived to the fullest.
