I had been traveled from other Asian countries, noticing the diversity of changes in the mode of transportation. They had a distinct design that constructed as their own pride. In connection to this, Philippines is proud to showcase their own products with quality, one of its pride is "jeepney". I was so delighted whenever riding to a jeepney, it is economical as form of transportation. The machine that had been modified from one design to another. If I have the chance to bring one thing in other countries, I'll bring a replica of a "jeepney" as a token. How about you? Any items in mind to bring as a token?

@Shavkat I don't believe I've ever heard of or seen a Jeepney before but I love how it looks! Looks like it can hold quite a lot of people.

Yes after the Americans sold their US army jeepneys to our locals, they decided to upgrade it a little bit cool for transportation. and that's how the jeepney stared. maybe others would do too but i don't think any foreigner would want to give some one else's fare to th driver if you're in the rear of the seat

I am so glad to know you are in a position to afford travels. I have several nations I would like to visit someday, God willing.
If I travel to another nation or society with distinct culture, I would love to take pictures and/or acquire unique items for my collection. Currently, the one thing I am thinking about is currency: Collect money in mint condition.

Oh, next time you are in the Philippines, extend my hearty greetings to the people in the Philippines, especially to Art Bell - founder of US talk show Coasttocoastam.

The "jeepney" would be a really good symbol to represent our country. I think for the past years, "balikbayans" would be buying wooden carabaos as tokens. Your idea is the best one that I could think of as of now.

So far, I only knew that well cultured and groomed women are the Pride of Philippines. I elove them so naturally as I love the land - my dreamland. 'Jeepney' as the Pride of Philippines is a new addition to my knowledge. I hope to visit the land of my dreams in coming December when I would know more about the land and her people.

Yes, I agree the women are full of beauty and grace. Jeepneys are a good additional view and ride to know. I hope you'll be able to enjoy also the beaches, the old structures that depicts the history of the land, the markets where you'll see how Filipinos help the economy.
Have a safe travel and thank you for loving the Philippines! Kudos!

I've been to the philippines on several occasions and am truly amazed to see the colorful jeepneys buzzing the busy streets of the city. They are the king of the road, picking and dropping passengers at their whims and fancies without considering the mounting jam they are causing to other road users. But ofcourse their services are a blessing not only to the locals but the uniqueness of this public transport has become an sttraction to foreign tourists. Traveling in a jeepney is a great experience for me and proudly told everyone back home not to miss the chance to travel in the jeepney when tbey happen to visit the philippines. I really have nothing unique from my country to be proud of except our fine beaches and mountain.

You are right my friend. Actually most of my balikbayan friemds did that already, bought jeepneys as gifts to their friends abroad. Taking the jeepney is what I always love to do whenever I am home and going to places. There are also jeepneys now that are air-conditioned, which is so cool.
I am glad that you started this discussion, it could attract and show good things about the Philippines. This is one way to promote Philippine Tourism. Thank you!

Hello my friend Shavkat Ji,
Well, but how does it look like. Please give some idea. Our country too has many transportation services and means to go as per distance to be travelled, satrting with human pulling to mechanical/electrical power driven means.
May God bless You and have a great time

Travel to different regions in the Philippines, only here in Iloilo you could find the best Jeepney casing designs.
Especially Jeepney traveling in route to Villa, Oton, Jaro CPU were the best...
The least (need to repair or update) Jeepney are in route to Parola.
