You often hear so many people so many times saying I really HATE my job. I wish there was more places hiring so I could move on to something else. Or I am only hear for the money, or the benefits. Beats being unemployed, or having to worry about my Health and medical bills.
I know these are often some of the same things I have said about where I am working at now, and have heard many of my coworkers express these same thoughts as well. It is often really the Truth as with the discusting FILTH there is everywhere, and then the lack of respect, etc. it does get hard to be there and really wishing I could be somewhere else.
But I continue to go there so I have the Good medical benefits, and the pay is better than some places. But like today being Friday, and I have 4 days off this week due to I took 2 extra days off for a Church event, by the time I get off it will be much needed for sure. But it is a job, and I have been there for 6 yrs. and since my Goal is to eventually get my Own business going better, maybe God is just trying to tell me I might need to stick this all out just a little longer more.

Tina, many people have the same views about their current positions. It is not uncommon to feel that way. But, with the economy the way it is a job you don't like provides more than no job at all. And, there are millions out there that wish they could complain about a lousy job.
You mentioned one day owning your own business, what is it you want to do?

Well, it is true that there are a lot of people out there on the unemployment line. Some of them are not too desperate to change that situation, while there are others who would be almost desperate for anything. I know that even with the Bad things about the place I am working, the Medical is good so for now it is what has to be.
I am really wanting to run like a Craft or home Business type shop where women who are struggling to get known could rent out a spot per month to show off their wares, and such. I do have a Business license which is a start. Just need to check into Grants etc. to see what is really out there.

Thanks for the Well Wishes. I know it is a Dream that I really need to start looking into, and seeing what is available. I am not sure whether I should start looking into it now, or wait until after the elections to see if things will change any, as besides a New president we are electing a New governor here as well.

You are right. There are many people out there that don't want to change their status. Seem they are doing okay will all the hand outs the government provides to get up and look for a real job. This just makes things worse for those who are desperate for work and don't qualify for all those extra benefits.
I love your idea of a craft shop with a group. That would be great. All different sorts of homemade items or lessons that can be sold on certain days. It would be a great outlet, a change to make some money and become very good friends with the other members of the group. A whole little family away from home.
I wish you the best of luck in this endeavor!

Sure, there are things I enjoy when it comes to my job. I enjoy working independently and the animals that I take care of (well, most of them anyway ). I especially love that it is near where I live. As I'm in a rural area, it's hard to find a job that's nearby.
Now if I could only get a raise, more hours, and benefits. My job would be just about perfect then!
Happy mylotting!

Working with animals I am sure is an interesting job and probably never the same day twice. So I could see how you would enjoy your job and all that it entails. Maybe in time it can lead to a job with more hours and benefits.

Interesting is putting it mildly! LOL
Unfortunately my boss doesn't offer benefits. I have been promised more hours for next month (October), but I'm afraid it won't last. It's not a very steady job at all.
On the plus side I have a job interview today. Maybe that'll be more promising. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

I remember at my last full time job (I was laid off in December 2005!), within two weeks, I was terribly bored and already looking for work! I stuck it out for six and a half years (although I was interviewing for new positions six months before I was laid off) because the thought of NOT being employed was scary! I would have loved to find another full time job, but things just didn't work out that way; fortunately, I had already started a new side job before I was laid off, so all was not lost. I worked at that for five years, until the recession took its toll and I had other health issues. But I've still been unable to secure full time employment, so I'm still working part time, still without health insurance, but at least with my new job, I'll have the opportunity to create my own hours and salary (real estate sales). What will your business be?

Well, I have an online offline business going with Jerky where I sell Beef, Buffalo Turkey and Chicken jerky both online and offline, and also working with a company doing a weight loss protein shake. Both are bringing in extra income, just never the amount I would Love to have to where I could pretty much work from home.

Yes being able to be your own boss is a good thing. Then you can control what happens each day in goals in how much you need to make or what things you might need to change in this as well. It is always a good dream to have and surely a goal worth shooting for.

Well, maybe in time this can turn into an office position. Just do what is required of you and show all your skills and duties and express and interest in the office and maybe in time something can open up for you.

Stay where you are for now - you have a job AND great benefits - something not everyone has in this crazy economy! But it's always good to keep your eyes open to other possible opportunities - something else might pop up that's even better - you never know!
My hubby is stable where he is (for now). He's got a good thing going there - including the benefits too (which means we as a family do too). He even gets catered lunch almost everyday! But he can sure see that it can get kind of boring there - ha ha. It's great being employed and we can't complain about the income among other things - but - the job can kind be long hours that drag. He's not sure that this is where he wants to be in the long run, but for now, it's a good gig - so he's going to stay where he is.

Well personally I think no matter where a person works, there will always be the Good and the Bad, and overall I am not looking to move somewhere else for now. With the Economy the way it is, I am planning on staying put until I get my own Business going more, and see what happens from there.

You job may be good or bad, but we should see that doesnt make our life bad. You work for 8-9 hours a day, still there is a life of 15 hours in day. So work is important, but it is not everything in life. make good friends in the place, you would feel better. Go for some trips in the weekend. You would feel much better

There are many things I do enjoy about my job, and some I do not, but the good outweighs the bad. I know I need to stay employed for a few years longer so we can meet some goals and take care of some needs.

Yes, that is what I keep on telling myself as well. There are a couple of reasons why I need too, and the Medical is good. I keep on reminding myself that this is better than some, and there are days it is not so bad. Just keeps me wanting to push on to my Goal of my own Business in time as well.

This is always an issue as there are people at my job I still consider one of the reasons many days I do not look forward to going to work is due to some of the people I work with and many times the lack of respect I get there as well. If I could be somewhere else I would.

This could be so true and many times especially when you are wanting your own business and being financially independent there will often be many obstacles you will have to face and learn to overcome. But I know I am willing to do whatever it takes to make this happen.

I work as a cashier and I was doing fine until earlier this year when I just couldn't take it, about two months ago I asked for fewer hours. It's taken a big hit on my paycheck, but I still have enough to pay the one, now two bills I have. It doesnt' help me further myself though. I'm still happy with the little time I do work there, and until I can get myself in the position to further myself and be able to go somewhere else, I'll stick it out.
That being said I do like my hours now, and it's bearable.

Well, it would be nice if my job would be a little more flexible especially with all my Medical issues, but it is better than it was, and if it was not for needing the Medical I would want to work less hrs. for sure. But sometimes you need to work what works best for you, and hope for the Best from there.

Even though there are a few things that I hate about my current job, there are actually a few things that I'm sure I wouldn't find someplace else.
One is proximity. I live a few blocks away from home, so I avoid any traffic. I could also pick up my kids from school if I timed my breaks right. I wouldn't necessarily call these as things I 'enjoy' (as I would surely enjoy a job that paid much-much more), but it works, for now.

The Insurance benefits are the definate plus. I know personally that is the main reason I have hung around especially when things were the worst. It really has helped with all the issues I have had with my Leg and health.

Well there are many days I can admit that I do not really enjoy my job and work their just for the benefits. That is why I would really like to get my online business going more just to where I can really do something that I enjoy and be more in control of what I am earning as well and focus more from there on how to keep making it better.

It's hard to go to work everyday when you can't stand the place you are going. People have a huge influence on that and then if you have a weak management system that makes you feel as though you mean nothing, well, that makes it even worse.
I have been with the company I am with for 13 and a half years now. Talk about ups and downs at that place..wow. There were times when I didn't think I would make it through the rest of the day for being so sad there. I was one of those there for the money and benefits. I have a say so now though. Not a huge company changing say so but at least for the people who work under me. It's my purpose for now I think. Later..who knows?

Well, these days is hard to find a good job. Even if we hate it or want to quit. We need to stick into our jobs.
That what happen to me before I don't like the jobs but I need to stay. Even if that what I feel into my jobs. There is still make me enjoy because doing work is much pleasure unto me...

It's funny because personally, it depends on the time of year you ask me whether you'll get a "I love my job!" or "I hate my job!" kind of response. I'm self employed in real estate. I own two residential properties in my city and rent them out to tenants. Most of the time, I adore my career. I have no set hours, nothing. I basically go into debt (to get a mortgage) and then get a rent check every month. The only common issues are the property repairs now and then.
THEN, you have times like the one I'm going through now. One of my tenants abandoned the property they were renting without paying the rent, and they left thousands of dollars in damages. I now have to go through savings to pay both my own bills and those of the property I'm attempting to ready for a new tenant. I'm also in the process of searching for their new address so I can sue them in small claims court. So as it stands, I'm not getting rent, I'm still paying the mortgage, taxes, and insurance, and thus I have a negative income until I get someone else in the property, which isn't possible until I spend thousands of dollars to fix the mess that was left behind.
Most of the time, I love being in real estate. I also am an author, but the royalties I get from selling novels are unpredictable and depend on the month, the time of year, etc. So I have two careers that are both unpredictable, and you can only do so much to prepare for the unexpected. I had $11,000 saved up for property repairs, for example, and as it stands, I have $4,000 left and am anticipating spending over $6,000 more. Despite being prepared, it wasn't nearly enough.
