What's the best way to lose my weight?

I've been working for 12 hours a day, sitting infront of the computer and doing my thing. I know that it's not really healthy for me to just sit down and do my work infront of the computer. So, I did some exercising to lose some fats in me. But yesterday, when I weigh myself at the scale, it was a shocking 60 kg from 57kg. What's wrong? I get up at 7am in the morning and do my own exercise for an hour, I also lessen my carbo intake. Can someone help me? It makes me so upset. Depression here we go. :)

I only read the first page of this message, so I'm not sure if you've heard this already, but... Really, the biggest thing in loosing weight is controlling what you eat. Look up a daily calorie requirement page, this is a pretty good one; http://www.kriskris.com/how-many-calories-should-i-eat-a-day/ I made a guess at how big you are, and if you have around 1700-1800 calories a day, you will stay at the same rate, so, to loose weight, you should be having around 1400-1600 calories per day. Less then that is dangerous, more then that will keep you at the same weight, or push it up higher. Of course, having a lower number of calories in the day can be tough if you're exercising more, but exercising is really good for you, as long as you don't go over. There are lots of apps and things for phones and computers that can tell you exactly how many calories you're having. A favorite of mine is called Fitday, and you just fill in what you're having, and it tells you how far you are from your limit. It also gives you all sorts of charts for how well you're doing and measuring your weight over time. Another thing, is when you exercise. Doing it in the morning and night is good, but it would be a big help to be doing it throughout the day. Doesn't have to be anything tough, but if you do something like make a 15 minute jog every 2 hours during work, then that would give you a higher metabolic rate and help you more, then a 1 hour workout once a day. Last big thing, is to remember that there are many things that can make variations on your scale. Your weight can go up as much as 2kg from when you wake up in the morning, to when you go to bed at night. Best time to check your weight, is when you first get up, after using the washroom, not wearing anything, and before you eat or drink anything. Keep track of it! The more you watch, the better you'll do. I hope this helps you out!

Everyone will give you their 2 cents. Your results are not determined by how hard you work, rather by what you choose to do :P

Muscle weighs more than fat but takes up less space. Your weight might have gone up because of muscle. You should go more by how your clothes feel, or measure yourself. If you think working is affecting you, you could do some chair exercises, but it doesn't really sound like you need more exercise.

You might want to join a website for people who want to lose or weight or just exercise. It's free! It has all kinds of different tips and exercise ideas. There is a whole team devoted to chair exercise. I am sure there will be something that can help you, and again it's free so there is nothing to lose. It is called Sparkpeople.com. check it out!

Weight is something people put on for a variety of reasons. If you are gaining and are not sure why, maybe you should see your doctor. I know that diet and exercise is one of the more recommended ways for controlling weight. If you are depressed, perhaps a doctor can help you with that as well. Health is a total package, mental and physical. Hopefully, you can feel better emotionally and achieve your weight loss goals.

To lose weight you must drink lots of water. It will keep you hydrated and flush your system. 2 quarts a day is good. Also, eating 1 or 2 grapefruits every day will help. Here is a link www.medicalnewstoday.com/releases/5495.php Also doing a search on grapefruit diet or grapefruit for weight loss will bring up many links. Eat more vegetables & fruit, stay away from sugars. Do not neglect your protein intake. Vegetables that are high in protein include asparagus, 3gr per serving and beans. Different types of beans are very high in protein. Here is a good link www.3fatchicks.com/top-8-vegetables-high-in-protein/ And try eating leaner meats. And definitely keep exercising. If you can take a brisk 15 minute walk every day it is helpful. I hope this helps. Good luck!

I have read up on the two conditions you have - UTI & Hyperacidity. What I have read is that the things you should do for one condition are not good for the other. You should stay away from acidic foods so the diet I suggested is not good. Grapefruit will only exacerbate your acid problem. Drinking a lot of water is not good because it will cause you to lose salt from your system which is helpful in dealing with the UTI. I can only suggest you do some research on the 2 conditions and see what fruits and vegetables are compatible with both conditions. I cannot, in good conscience, suggest anything. There is much information on the internet regarding Hyperacidity and UTIs. Do not follow the diet I recommended as I did not know of your other problems when I suggested it. Good luck and I hope you have a good doctor.

Yes. I agree. I've been drinking lots of water. But sometimes, I don't. But my ob-gyne advices me to do so because of my UTI. I also have hyperacidity that may lead to ulcer. I'm having a hard time sometimes in choosing my food.

I also work in front of a computer everyday and when I get home I also spend time around the computer . I think you put on weight because your maybe not eating right . You need to fast track your metabolism because it sound like its slow. You need to drink more water each day and also drink a glass of water before and after meal , also eat 3 meals a day . You will be ok drink more water and less sodas until you start to lose weight . You should see result in about a week .

What caused your drop in weight is you have lessened the intake of carbohydrates which i think is good. Just keep it up! But do remember to stand up once in a while when you are working in from of your computer to allow the blood flow and circulate to different parts of your body.

A shocken 3 kilos more weight??? Come back to complain if you have a shocking 30 kilos more. Muscles weight more as fat does.. so you better use the mirror or measure your seizes and see if there is really something wrong or you just build muscles. BTW if you want to know if your diet is good you better describe everything you eat. 3 kilos can also be fluid/water, obstipation, scale not ok anymore etc.

Thanks for the advices. I think I should really check on my sizes. I don' really want a muscle, I just want my excess fats to be burned. I want my weight to be proportion to my height.

And please don't lessen your carb intake and get enough slow carbs. It's sugar(for e.g. fruit) that you really need to restrict in your diet.

When you start exercising your weight increase a bit at first, since your body react to the unexpected effort by trying to maintain more energy (=fat) to the future (since it seems you need more). However if you will keep on exercising (and won't eat more) you will soon see your weight going down. Also I'll recommend following a known & healthy diet, liker DASH diet - it will give you guidelines to follow (which make it easier) and it is known to reduce blood pressure. Good luck.

last feb 18,2012 i celebrated my 1 year achievement of losing wt. it really feels so good to be looking fit & healthy.. Im a fun of the biggest loser show in the TV, so i was so inspired to try it by my self, so i tried it, from 170 Ibs. im now 130Ibs, isn't that great!!! well what i did was i do jogging in the morning & do ZUMBA in the afternoon with my aunt in the house. But since I've been working for 8 hours in the hospital & my sched is shifting, so i'm also having a problem with it because sometimes I cant have my early jogging or zumba, so what i did i still do them twice a week in my free time, & i watch what i eat no more to sodas which i really love to drink. so instead of sodas i drink a lot of water...

Check the scale twice. And a continuous diet and exercise will help you. What is your desired weight? Don`t overdo as diet goes, because our bodies need nourishing. Anyway, I can tell you from my own experience that it is not healthy to be seated 12 hours in front of a computer. It is advisable that you take breaks and do something else ever hour or so.

First of all, I think that you are on the right track by adding exercise to your routine. However, you do need to really pay attention to the kind of exercise that you are doing. You need to be doing cardio exercise as opposed to strength exercises. The reason for this is that cardio exercise is going to be the exercise that burns fat while strength exercise is that which builds muscle (and when building muscle, you will not lose weight, instead, you will be losing inches). Next, you do need to pay attention to your diet. In my experience, it makes more sense to moderate your diet as opposed to taking things out of your diet. I hope that you have the best of luck on your weight loss journey.

Yea i also agree with all that the reason behind your weight loss is exercise but i also want to give you a tip. That don't drop down your fat content too much because fat contains phospholids and other vital nutrients that are very essential for brain.

You got up at 7 am in the morning and did exercises? Does that mean on empty stomach? I don't think that's good for you. Of course, you lose a lot of fat on fasted stomach but I and many others have noticed lose of muscles by working out on fasted stomach. So, please be careful :)

Thanks for being concern. Yes, that what I'm doing. I saw it on biggest loser that you can eat after you exercise so that while you are perspiring, you can burn fats as you eat. Sometimes, it really do confuse me. Thanks a lot. :)
