do you belive dreams have a certain meaning? I don't. I think that dreams are an image of our desires sometimes, or the thinks we think about during the day. but at the same time there are also weird dreams that appear not to have any kind of signification. for example one night I dreamt I was on a large ship and my bag fell in the water. I jumped in to get it and the water was so black and cold. you can imagine how scared I woke up in the morning.

I have always been intrigued about how dreams are. All I know is that what we dream about is a reflection of our conscious mind. The dreams that come up are sort of "stories" that represents something in the past or in the future.

"All I know is that what we dream about is a reflection of our conscious mind." Very nicely said and a lot better than I said it.

A Doctor that my Mother went to a while back was doing research on why we dream. His theory was that it is a way that our body processes emotions from certain situations we have been in, so then, the body can let this emotion go. I have found this to quite often be the case when I look back at my dreams, the people in them, the feelings I have while dreaming/ situation. Sorry to ramble...just some food for thought! (this is my first post)

Thought it might be humorous to mention that I had a dream about having twins last night! I have currently been going though a rough spell with our two year old...needless to say, I woke up terrified!!

I'm not quite sure if I agree with that or not. I had a dream once that I had a fire in the kitchen..it was terrible and woke me up. It was so real that I got up and went into the kitchen just to make sure everything was ok because I had children sleeping, and found my St. Bernard puppy chewing on the wires behind the stove which could have easily started a fire. All dreams have some sort of meaning but not all dreams come true of course. I do feel they have a meaning of whats going on in our lives or has gone on in our lives.

You are the best person who can interpret your own dreams, I think. There are others who claim that they can interpret dreams of others. But what i think is, since the dream is being relayed to them, the interpreter would tell you how he/she perceives it based on his/her experience.

dreams are the subconscious desires, like you said that need expression and be given attention. They may not directly man how it was presented in one's dream but they represent something within our mind that needs to be addressed. most often these dreams are the thoughts and desires that were repressed or left unexpressed but become active in our sleep. You can try reading the BOOK OF DREAMS if you would like to know the meaning of your dreams. You can even try to make out the meaning yourself if you like. For example, try to recall in your past, the things you would like to do that somehow has a cold and black qualities. Literally , they are not really black and cold, but some experiences or desires that can have the qualities of black and cold. Try to do the same in the other elements you mentioned.

by scientific way it is true that dreams are the reflection of daily activity and desires, but i am not 100% agree with it because sometimes they also have some meaning and when we understand that thing we are speechless. it happens with me also but it unbelievable also that how could this be possible.

Dreams could somehow bring messages into your life, yet there are times that dreams are just meaningless. But, there are really dreams that are meant to be there to give you some messages and for you to prepare about the future. I think the safest way is to pray about your dreams whether it's good or bad we have to pray for it.

People older than me, particularly the elders said, if you dream something, it is the other way around in reality.

I am not entirely sure if dreams have meaning. Most of my dreams are random; they usually don't have a beginning. It's like I am somewhere and I can't remember how I got to the place and situation. My dreams often reflect how I am feeling. When I feel sad, my dreams are dark and dreary. When I am happy, they have more vibrant settings with people greeting me. I just hate those dreams where you are falling and then you wake up before hitting the ground; it's the weirdest feeling to have when you awaken from your dream.
