Some years back, I worked as a receptionist in a guest house and the second month in the job I was transferred to work in the housekeeping department and the duties were cleaning the toilets and the long guest house coridals and sweeping the car park among others. I would get so tired and I needed the job so I just did my best. At 3 pm We were given the worst food that was left over after the lunch guests had eaten and the best leftovers were given to the security dogs. After one month they dismissed me stating that I was not able handle the job irrespective of the fact that I did my best.

I haven't experience that kind of job. It is sad to know that there are people who had to experience that kind of situation in order to earn for a living. How much do they pay for that kind of job? I am sad that they treat animals better than their employees. I just don't understand the logic in that. If I were in your shoes, I must have felt demoralized.
The worst job I had was when I worked as an encoder in a mailing company. I only stayed there for a day since I really did not like the schedule. I work from 4pm until 1am. I thought that I can just stay there and wait until the sun rises but it is not. They all go home at 1am and so am I. And then I found out that it is really unsafe to be out during those hours.
But compare to what you have experienced, I guess that mine is nothing. That made me realize that I am still blessed to have this kind of life. Many people think that their lives are the worst but if you will only take a look at what others have experienced, you will realized that you have so many things to be grateful about.

Paper_doll the beauty of these experiences is that they strengthen someone to handle challenges later on in life. The job was paying only 200 dollars per month. When I worked there what hurt the people that had employed me is the fact that I was always in good spirit and smiling a lot and that is why they dismissed me.Your issue is big because we have been given different strengths to handle different issues and your working schedule was a nightmare as far as I am concerned because security comes first. There is no greater gift in life than to learn to be grateful for what we have, I have embraced that too. Have a great Weekend.

The worst job that I was in home health care, I liked the jobs as such, but the work conditions were terrible. There were two big problems. The job was very stressful because we all had far too many patients. We had to hurry from place to place and we worked 6 hours without a break, we didn't even have time for a toilet break during the day, because our days were packed with visits. I found the lack of time very frustrating and I felt that I wasn't able to my job properly. I never finished my work on time and I had to spend most of my lunch break on extra visits. The second problem was the atmosphere in the home health care team. The best way that I can describe the atmosphere is "extremely cold". Almost everyone were stressed and there was a very bad atmosphere between the nurses and the atmosphere between the nurses and the leaders was extremely cold as well.

The other day I was complaining about not going out for my lunch break and your case is so severe, toilet break and extreme cold. Yours win as the worst job so far.

My worst job experience was actually my first job experience which made it that much worse! It was at a movie theatre, the owner would have people work "on a trial basis" and if he wasn't satisfied you would be let go and not paid for the time you spent there. My mom and dad fought this for me with the labor board and I got paid because what this man was doing was not legal.

That's just too bad he could get away with that and the good part is you got your dues and you have supportive parents.

yes i can understand the situation you must have gone when you were fired from your job. It would have hurt you a lot after having done so much of hard work. Well i am still a student and hope that this type of things doesn't happen with me in the future. What say?

The worst job I had when my boss accused me of having a very sensitive issue. So I sue him, then I got the justice I wanted.

You must work in an amazing country where you have the option to sue to get justice. Good one for you.

I haven't had many jobs and now am on SSI for Asperger's. Don't worry, I'm not the type that wants to live off the taxpayer's dollar for the rest of my life. I am in college trying to better myself to get a job and get off this check. But on to the discussion, I have had a bad work experience. I was working at a Baptist Retreat (summer camp) and it seemed I was one of 3 out of 45 staff members that were actually there for the passion rather than for the money. When you are working at a camp dealing with hundreds of kids you have to be there for passion, not money. The biggest problem was that nobody actually read my application. Put simply I was a camper there for 5 years and everyone knew my name thus I had a job without anyone even reading my application. Nobody knew I had Asperger's, nor that I had experience with autism. There was this kid there who was 13 and had autism. He wasn't extremely severe, but he definitely was autistic. I connected with him from day one, which is easy to do because we're both on the spectrum. It was on Monday that I connected with him and it was Wednesday when the manager pulled me aside and said he didn't want me associating with the kid because I didn't have the experience needed. If he had read my application he would have known that I probably had more experience with autism than any of the 44 other staff members. Of course, I wasn't going to do as the manager said and just ignore this kid who now had a friend. I continued on being his friend right in front of the manager. I didn't get hired back the next summer, but I felt like I did the right thing. I put my passion, which is autism, before my wallet. My friendship with that kid is a lot more important than that job was.

Wilson, I so get you on doing a job for the passion. People are so blinded by money that they don't see anything else. At least you made a difference to that one kid and that can not paid in currency.
