I have my share of bad habits and I don't find it at all easy to break them at all. They can be such a huge part of your life that you don't realize how bad of a habit you have until trying to break it. A few of my bad habits include: over sleeping, drinking too much pop and not exercising enough. What kind of bad habits do you have/ had and have you tried breaking them? If so, how'd it work out?

Well when I was younger I used to bite my nails and now I've stopped biting those and now it's the cuticles. I just try not to look at them and they heal but it's so annoying that sometimes I pick at them without even realising!

I used to bite mine a lot also, now I find myself picking at my nails with my other finger nails. Needless to say, I don't have pretty or girly looking nails at the moment. The only time they look girly is if I get fakes put on, but I've even caught myself messing with those before too.

Me too. They get dirty all the time so I try to clean them but then I see some of the skin sticking up and I seem to pick at that too but I am getting better, it's not as bad. I try not to look at them so I won't pick or do anything

Honestly, I feel that everyone has a bad habit whether it be biting their nails, over indulging or anything else. What individuals consider "bad" differs with each person ~ so who's to say its a bad habit besides yourself?! What I feel is a bad habit may be no big deal to you and vice-versa. That being said....don't be so hard on yourself - if you don't want to drink so much pop ~ cut back or if you think you need to excersize more DO IT! You choose your own destiny and we ourselves can be our own worst critics - I try not to do that to myself...there are too many other people in the world who are quick to judge...

Hi Jshean! You can start one step at a time to avoid your bad habits. I also love drinking coke but I drink it moderately.

We have some habits that seems so strange to other people. In some instances, they might even misinterpret the habit. However, some people should change the habitual ways to improve their personality and not to feel nervous, especially if they are having a job interview. It will reflect the uneasiness of being lack of confidence.

I think many people have the bad habits like you, at least I have. I like sleeping so I always get up late on weekends, but during the weekdays I don't have a chance for that as I have to go to work. I don't like doing exercises, once I play computer, I don't have motivation to stand up ,I am addicted to it. I am forced to leave the computer by my husband and my daughter, as my husband asks me to have meals and my daughter wants me to go to the park with her. So my work , my husband and my daughter help me to overcome my bad habbit.

Bad habits should be broken and good ones should be acquired. But it is a tedious job.In order to break a bad habit we should understand what type of habit it is...but quite difficult to find out. Some of my bad habits include getting angry soon, depressed, not sleeping properly, nervous, tensions or mental worries,no exercise and no patience to deal a situation etc;.These habits have become repetitive and almost seems natural. I have tried to break all these by controlling emotions.. but not yet succeeded.Still keeping on trying....

Well, I keep procrastinating. I haven't really worked out a way to make myself stop, but I can force myself to get a bunch of stuff done every few days, so at least that's a start. I need to build a routine where I do the things that need to get done first thing each day, but I keep thinking I will do it later.

Though i am a student,i dislike studying. There are too many books to read, they drive me crazy. Then i am addicted to playing games online, what's more ,without eat anything all day ,you know ,that's bad for our health, and due to lack of exercise,i am under the weather.Perhaps, once we lost something that never come back again,we will realise what is precious.
