If someone has hired you to do a job, whether he's watching you or not, you should do your job to the best of your ability. You are hurting his business by not working, and when you hurt the business, you also hurt yourself.

Bravo. Your words are very true. How can so many people who admit to doing this be such horrid cheats?? They are stealing from the boss too.

I'm glad to know there's at least two of us who believe cheating is wrong.

oh alright, i have been in this situation before and well luckily when it happened my boss was really close with me and that i was able to somehow chat with him a bit and is comfortable working beside him. he is really accomodating and nice... but yes, i know there are just some parts of it that would still somehow make you feel uncomfortable. =) I would be more productive if no one would look at me work, presenting my work is a different thing but knowing that someone is at my back watching me do my work.. that sure is a different thing.

Yes, I can work without my boss watching. I do not need my boss to look at my every more to ensure my job efficiency. It is a pity that there are many people who depend on their boss to scold them evry now and then and thus ensure job efficiency. We should learn to work without the boss watching because that alone is need for us to one day become a boss.

Please don't mistake me,but my answer to the question here is,'Yes,I can and I will.'It does not matter whether my boss is watching me or not.In fact,it makes no difference for me.If I am working at an office,I will try to give my 100%,because this is what I am paid for.I want to live as a self respectful and honest man who means what he says.My parents have taught me that I should do everything for my country and I would carry on their advice. Please don't think,I am praising myself.I have said what I do.

Tushavi, Yes, because I am the kind of person who is more productive when nobody is watching. If you work because your boss or anybody is watching you, the output is not good because you are just pretending that you are working and that is cheating. Have a nice day.

Yes, i always prefer to work all by myself. I don't like my boss to watch me working either. I don't have the confidence to work if my boss keep watching me.

Hello Tushavi! Well yeah here it is best to write on your resume that you can work independently so your boss doesn't always have to be around to watch you so they can do other things. Happy MyLotting. ~AussieGal~

When I worked I had no option, but to work, regardless of whether my supervisor or managers were watching me, because I worked in a call centre and we had stats that showed the managers how much we had worked in one day, we were given targets to meet and if we didn't meet them they would show up on our stats, so there was no escaping work or idling when the managers weren't around. At the weekends there weren't many around, but you still had to work because you knew that the stats would tell them if you worked or not.

you can try in our country (Canada) but eventually the boss will find out by the production you put out, he or she just has to look at how much the others are doing compared to you.

Ever heard of a work ethic? That means you do your best at work no matter what the circumstances. Ever heard of an honest day's work for an honest day's pay? This is how most people operate. If you are only productive when the boss is around...hoe does any work get done?

To answer your question is yes. I do my work regardless of who is watching! My work is set up for me to do Without close supervision. I think if I had to work while others watch I wouldn't do good work.

I work as supervisor in a five star hotel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I know those nationality who work only if their boss is around. If you are from India they are one of them. I don't knew why their attitude is like that. They are hardworking if their boss is around them.

Christians are taught to do our work "as unto the Lord". There is a song that we sing occasionally titled "There's an All-seeing Eye Watching You ". I don't care that much for that particular song, as I've always done my job to the best of my ability whether I thought I was being watched or not.

Hi Tushavi, I work without the supervision of the boss because I am on the field work. I am a cashier assigned to different facilities and I have to accept payment as soon as the customers comes in. I guess it depends on a lot of thing, the culture, the work condition, the kind of work and the will of the person. Like for my case, I may do what I want but then, If someone files a complain to me, then I am done. Or if I do not complete my work assignment, I am done again... A lot of things might happen and as a worker, I am accountable for my position.

What yu say may be true in some places and with some people, but all are not the same and many work and get happiness when they are satisfied with what they have done.Money of course counts and so does job satisfaction which is as important. In fact, our boss too would be working for a salary ...all the best and happy mylotting

Tushhavi, when i was still working before, i don't need my boss to watch me working whole day. I am the one that need to work and print out the report and submit to my boss. He will know whether i am working or not by looking at my report. Besides that, my boss is busy with lots of other works, so no time to watch me working. I think you should have a strict rules regarding work and pay, so your workers won't be lazy at work.

The simple answer is yes. Having established my core values, and appreciation of the value of work, I do not need to be constantly monitored by my supervisor/boss in order to do a good job. On a point of interest Tushavi, cheating will not always be a rewarding activity to consider; even if it brings 'short term gratification' for some people. Why? Cheating is never a good habit to cultivate.., never! Therefore, once one has developed the appropriate attitude towards work- it would not matter whether one is supervised or not, as- one will always do a good job at working on any given task, and/ or at work.

Hi friend, good to hear about your country employee's principle, in our place we don't have the ability or rights to get the salary if we stopped our work, if our boss dismissed us from our work, we are in need to find another job and no way to get the salary from him

I'd prefer working without my boss watching. I've had more jobs that I was the boss and had to do things that the boss didn't do. So, yes, I'd prefer to work without a boss watching over me. I always stay busy. I'm there to do my job, not sit around not even if the boss isn't there.

Ha-ha,of course I will still keep working. You see, I need to finish the work assigned to me no matter whether the boss is watching me. If I stop working, I have to work overtime to finish it. I don't want that. As far as the problem you face,I think you should change the way to pay. You can't pay them unless they finish the work.
