"If you encounter the presence of God, what are you going to say?"

I was been asked with this simple question. Frankly, I am not that religious but I do believe in God. I answered without hesitation, " If ever I encounter the presence of God, I will ask and tell him "why do people fight?" "In fact, we are brothers and sisters in the eyes of God and in the eyes of people." Now, I will ask the same thing. What will it be your response?

Well, I am not religious at all, but on the outside chance that god does exist and I ever encountered him, I would ask one simple question. Why do we have to age and die. It seems that aging is cruel to me. And I do know it is part of life. But if he is the main man then he would be able to make it that we do not have to age and die. Thats my two cents.

My question would be are you, God playing games with the human race? Is there a benefit to all the pain and suffering we go through here on earth?

Ican reply to your question : yes my brother , there are many benefits to us , every pain and suffering faced us and we have patience , God will forgive us guilt and sins for this , whenever I get sick or landed on me a calamity ,I pray to Him that inspires me patience .

well according to my religion God gave us free will which means we do what we want, so that means, certain people will fight. God asks us to turn to him and do the right thing but he would not force us.
Honestly, I really don't know what I would say, this is just not something I can predict.

I would have alot to ask God if I encountered him! I am not very religous either but I beleive in God. I would like to ask him why he took the good,my mom, instead of the bad parent,my dad? I would also like to ask him why he has let me be torrented about things I shouldn't be? I want to ask him about ghosts and spirits and why they exsit. Why he let the bible be written with so many overblown stories and alot of not true at all stories? Just a few things I would like to ask!

hi,
i would love to encounter the presence of our God because the first thing that i will tell to Him are all my sins that i have done,i also tell that why people need to murder other people just for their intentions or for their own benefits.i wish to encounter our God even in my dream only.

From the Christianity perspective, I would probably ask why He did not forgive Adam and Eve when they disobeyed Him and ate the forbidden fruit. Because if He did, then there would not be fights and quarrels about the true religion.
From the Buddhist perspective, I would probably ask why enlightenment is so ambiguous and obscure when it should be straightforward and most importantly made simple.
From the Taoist perspective, I would probably ask why practices differ so much that people like me cannot help feeling confuse with the differences in adopted formalities and rituals passed down from generations. Isn't it supposed to be the same?

Oh man, would I have questions!
Like, why did you screw everything up? Why did you make even just living and breathing so difficult? Why didn't you make our systems better, so we wouldn't die of health problems? Why did you make such a complex mess of systems and living organisms? Why did you show yourself in different ways, promoting war between people? Why did you kill off so many people, yourself? Why did it take you so long to get everything done? Why do you make people give their lives for you? Why are you so full of yourself that you need people to call you so great, all the time?
Boy.. I would have lots and lots of questions... luckily, I'll never have to ask those, because it makes far more sense that God doesn't exist.

I don't think that I will ever have the opportunity to encounter the presence of God in my life, but there are a lot of things that I would love to be able to ask God if I ever did have that opportunity. The first thing that I would have to ask would be "Why do people have to encounter so much hurt in their lives?" The reason that I would ask that question is because of the fact that people are always encountering some kind of hurt in their life, be it physical pain from illness or injury or emotional pain because of the fact that loved ones have passed on.

The first thing that I will tell God is "sorry". I would ask for forgiveness for everything that I have dine wrong and for giving my parents heartaches when I was younger. And also will ask forgiveness for the bad times that my husband and I for not being the way I should be.

"Because people hear my Word in different ways---hearing some sections while not hearing other sections, disregarding some sections as 'canceled-out' by later-or-earlier sections, etc."
An example: I hear that God's most-crucial salvation for man (even before sin or the salvation therefrom) was 'to provide for him a help-mate.' So it seems to me that the first goal of every Christian should be 'to find themselves a suitable help-mate for life,' and then 'to make sure everyone else finds a suitable help-mate for life.'
Under that theology, every church-meeting/worship-service should be a mixer for singles, chaperoned by the marrieds. But apparently that's not how it works So I'm bound to 'fight' with anyone who thinks it's 'worship of God' or something.
I'm bound to 'fight' with them not only because they think 'they KNOW' the meeting is NOT a mixer for singles, but also because 'I KNOW' that 'what they think 'worship of God' is is actually the furthest thing from "worship of God"---you could even say God HATES such 'inspired' lip-service.
So that's why: different understandings of the same pile of WORD.

We are fighting is because we have not been able to believe in God in the true sense or not to believe in God in the true sense.

Praise God! Thank you for the gift of life. Thank you for your great love to me. Lord I am nothing with you. Thank you for all the blessings and graces and sharing me your love and love of my parents, friends and all that surrounds me. Your will be done always in my life.

If I were to actually meet God in this life I would thank Him for all the blessings He has given me. Even the worst of times have turned out to be good for me in the long run. I thank Him every day for all He's done for me and my family.
People fight because He has given us free will so that we can grow spiritually. He doesn't want a bunch of sheep that blindly love, He wants real love from His children. We would not have a Nelson Mandela, a Mother Theresa or Ghandi if we did not have free will that causes strife. Those three people and many, many others have steered people to better lives and opened hearts to God.
If there is not darkness we do not appreciate the light. If there is no strife we can't appreciate peace.

Every second that I am still breathing is enough to make me feel the presence of God.
I always say my Thanks to GOD, for the guidance and care.

Hi Shavkat: I think I would be shocked to react. Maybe thanks for everything and I wish I could understand why some things happen in my life. I would add, God, please guide me in my day by day decisions.
