lately i have this habit of researching, natural method of treating almost all kinds of sickness, i believe that prevention is always better than any kind of cure, with my age im always interested on topics of how to stay healthy, actually i eat an apple every other day, how about you how do you keep your body and mind healthy? does researching the internet have something to do about your health or you just let a doctor take care of all the responsibility with regards to your own health?

Haha, you are healthy becasuse "an apple a day keeps the doctor away." I like apples, too. But I ear one every several days or I eat several in a day. Sometimes I eat other fruits.
I think the internet has something to do with my health, I often go to the internet to see what are healthy food and also how to be healthy. I also search for help when I don't feel well, and always I can get the solution, it is really cheaper and more convenient than going to see the doctor. I can get many online doctors' opinions, so I will choose the best one. I think it is even better than see the doctor in hospital.
SO the internet really helps us a lot. Enjoy yourself!

I don't go to the doctor. That's a sure way to kill yourself. I believe in homeopathic remedies. So I do a lot of research on the internet. I have some very good books, too. After much research I started taking vitamins and supplements that I believe I need. Sometimes I run across conflicting information, so I have to keep researching even more. Doctors are too busy writing up prescriptions to see that many illnesses could be dealt with naturally. And it's safer. I very seldom get sick and at my age (64) that's a good thing. I do have a fear of becoming ill. So, to answer your question, yes researching on the internet has a LOT to do with my health.
Apples can help to control your blood sugar levels. They're very good for you.
And welcome to mylot!

I really can't. If you tell me you have a cold I can suggest a remedy and a link for more information. If you ask how to lose weight I can make suggestions and, again, provide a link or two. I decided what I needed to take by looking at any problem I might have, typically arthritis. I researched. A lot. For general health I researched all the different vitamins, what they're for. I researched different supplements the same way. As you research you come across other things so you look them up as well. I bought books. I have been doing this for four years. It's an ongoing process. There is so much to learn. And then of course, I can't remember it all. So sometimes I have to go back and read it again. I can tell you that drinking a lot of water every day is essential (unless you have a UTI, in which case it's not a good idea), maintaining a healthy weight and walking every day (briskly) are three things that are very good for you. Eating fresh fruits & veggies every day is healthy. Organic apple cider vinegar is good for so many things it's unbelievable. Coconut oil is considered the best oil for cooking and early research shows that it seems to help in treating Alzheimer's patients. It also is good for many things. You can lower your blood pressure with herbs and also by controlled breathing. Here is a link I think you might like: www.earthclinic.com It contains natural remedies for many ailments. Enjoy!

''walking'' yeah that one seem to be a simple thing to do that i dont do much, im always sitting in the front of the computer for a long time,..thanks for the advice and the link, there really lot of simple things or food to eat that are readily available that never had that attention, Alzheimer's in a clinical approach seem to be incurable

Well, you certainly hav found a way to make use of the Internet wisely. Most people use the Internet but have used it for other ways. There are even other who' use the internet entirely for online games which I think is no longer healthy. You are indeed right, we can always decide to do what is healthy for our body and make the decision. It is up to us to control or perhaps be tempted. The choice is always ours. May you have good health always!

While I do use the Internet to research topics of general health, I do not entirely believe "An Internet a day keeps keeps the doctor away". I think you need to consider both your own research via Internet and going to a doctor as instrumental factors of keeping yourself healthy. While looking up information on the Internet may be a lot cheaper than going to the doctor, there will be times where your ailments may need professional consultation. Doctors are highly trained professionals that can treat even your most serious illnesses or other types of conditions. Despite the vast knowledge the Internet provides, we should not rely on one source for our general health. Having multiple resources for ensuring your general health will be more reassuring than only using one resource.

well everyone has the choice of what to believe to, but my point here is that preventing an aliment do not need professional consultation, i think curing an ailment is what you mean, the very essence of my opinion is exactly how to prevent an ailment, why should anyone without ailment seek a doctor?and the information i got here on the internet is far more than just consulting 1, 2 even or 3 doctors,...and most of all there's no consultation fee at all...

Hello kongno. It is a good and helpful habit of yours to research natural method of treating sickness. I have to say that I don't have this habit at all. Only when I feel physically uncomfortable do I do some researching job related to it and I would like to have my wife for help with any information about it. Thanks so much for the discussion. Have a good day.
