Can a cat get along with a dog?

I can see many cats getting along with dogs in the internet.What it would be if I have raised both kittens and dogs?

I have a lot of cats and a couple of dogs. Cujo, my little dog is kind of afraid of the cats, well, the biggest cat is nearly as big as he is... Zoe, the other dog loves kittens and she's really good with the ones that came in as babies, or that were already used to dogs. The other cats just avoid her, she's TOO interested in them for their taste.

I think it helps if you have the kittens first and then introduce a puppy. I had three kittens and waited until they were about a year old before introducing two rescued dogs. Two of the cats loved the dogs, made a point of befriending them. Even rubbed their faces against the dogs' muzzles. The other cat hissed and kept her distance. I now have 4 dogs and 2 cats. Neither of them fear the dogs and unless a cat runs the dogs do not chase them. I would say that mostly the cats are in charge of the dogs who are treat any threatening claws with great caution.

My understanding is that you have raise the kittens and puppies together, so that they get use to each other from a very young age.

Cats and dogs can live together very happily once they have learned not to see each other as a threat. It is sometimes easier when they are brought up together as kittens and puppies because they then learn to be companionable from an early age.

don't be under impression that cats and dogs are enemies and can not live together peacefully. phase 'fighting like cats and dogs' is no more in modern dictionary. in present era both are fast friends. even cats became more dominant. they can eat together, leave together. no surprise

Hello friend I think it's possible if they grew up together. I have a cat and dog at home but unfortunately they don't get along..:(

pale its like if you ever have a pets dog and cat, its like when they are kitten and peppy they don't fight the play with each when ever they are together, i love pets because they are someone who can listen you without any argue and they are always their with you in your sadness and in your joy .
