Wednesday we got the new bed delivered.
Needless to say, the FedEx guy would only deliver it to the door - actually to the top of the driveway. That meant we had to carry it in.
The metal bits box was a TON and falling apart, so we finished taking it apart and huffed it in that way. First I carried everything to the door, then I started carrying things into the front room. But the roomie tried to haul nearly everything from the outside of the door inside - meaning she was leaving the door OPEN! Its 101 out there - do NOT leave my door OPEN!
So, I got her to stop where I was leaving the other stuff and go back for the rest.
I then was placing stuff in the guest room so that it wouldn't be in the way, and have the stuff ready for the nephew.
My back, but even more so, my right hip was cussing me out!

I know exactly what you are going through, my back and hips ache from the move - it has only been a week and that walk which I am proud that I did.

Usually, for the first 3 days it is painful after you strained any muscles with exercise. Day 2 is usually the worst, but after day 3 it will get better. Hang in there, it will get better, unless you sprained a muscle or tendon, then it can take up to weeks to heal.

Some would say that's good exercise, but that wouldn't be looking at the whole picture, huh. Eight miles is great over eight days, but with pressure on your joints, those 8 miles coming in the same day is a hard price to pay. I hope you feel better soon.

I forget... did you tell us that there was no bus service in the new area?
How about a DARTS bus, where disabled people call them up and they send round a mini bus right to your door?

I don't qualify for the handicap transport. There are buses but where we were going there is no bus route, we kind of went around in a circle.

Well, that's not good. Hope you don't have to do that walk too often.

That was quite a hike for you. You are definitely going to get some sleep today after all that exercise.
Take it easy this week, your muscles will retaliate for a few days afterwards.

Yes but the pain I am feeling is my usual pain, I have it all the time as you know. I am pretty fed up with it now too. I can't wait til it goes away but it is because it is damp here and dampness and humidity kill me.

Hope the pain subsides soon. Walking is supposed to be very good for you but I think you're supposed to work your way up to eight miles. I understand though. You wanted to get something done. I probably would have done the same thing.

It's cool of you to do so. While i never try to do that way, for sometimes we need to think of good side and to take some walk can better help us to do exercise and our body condition. I will not complain about it or just enjoy that coz we are at least able to do that.

Well i can understand the pain you must be going through after walking 8 miles. I think you should take complete bed rest and avoid using stairs. But i would recommend you to get a cycle or a 2 wheeler in case you cannot afford a car otherwise you will have to walk for miles and then you would suffer every day.
What say?

yep we have to walk because the stores are all out of the way. But the pain is from osteoarthritis.
