I love writing articles but I consider the pay-per-page-view system as rather slow when it comes to earning online. Are there legitimate sites that give upfront payment for articles?

I-writer and projects from e-lance and o-desk,plus I saw one here at myLot in the tasks folder can pay you upfront as long as your article won't get rejected. Be prepared to the idea of a ghostwriter though, because you cannot claim your article as yours.

You list them all , you have to have strong writing skill for most jobs on those site . I was thinking of doing the one here in the task section but I dont think I can do so much work in one day .

I donKt know how strong your writing skills are but am sure by asking for sites that pay upfront for articles then you must have written for sites that uses the per-page-view system.
If you are willing to learn as you write and get help as you submit articles to titles available, I would ask you to join Helium. But if you would like to write for a one time pay and select articles you write and requesters you write for, then go over to iWriter, make an account and start writing according to your schedule and time.
Hope I have been able to help you, but be sure to read FAQs and How it works on the site and also their reviews from other sites.

You can also try Constant Content. It's where you submit your articles and when someone is interested to buy your articles, you can give them complete rights or partial rights. And you can set how much you want to sell your articles for. The website will take a percentage from your sale.

Well there is textbroker, Helium has a list of articles people want written and there are always people looking for writers on Freelance and Elance. These all are sites where you write for other people, I am not sure if there are any sites that pay up front for your own articles. If there are could somebody point me in their direction :)

Yes, we all look for upfront payments but it seems rather scarce... or you have a good start but it does not continue. This job is all about trying and trying again until you get a hit. Every time the site is good you think this is the right site, but something always comes along like sites changing owners or blocking out people from certain countries and you have to start all over again. So keep trying. Have you tried iWriter?
