Women's Health Issue-Can you help! Probably Not For You Guys...

As my friend's might have noticed my absence for awhile I have decided to
make a few discussions to explain some of the things that have been
going on and get some opinions. One of the issues is a bit embarrassing
since it is a serious and scary "women's health issue" I will have to
explain in a bit more detail so that I might get someone here who may
have experienced something similar. I went for my "yearly "gyno exam"
and my Dr. had me go for a sonogram. (She's too thorough and quiet the
alarmist). They found "fluid" surrounding my Uterus. Apparently, this is
abnoral. She tried to take a biopsy and couldn't do it because my cervix
wouldn't cooperate! She sent me to an Oncolgy Surgeon who also tried
to do the biopsy and and told me my Cervix was (locked shut). Well,
excuse me! Now I am scheduled for a surgical procedure
on 9/26, at the hospital-out-patient. The oncology surgeon is going to
have to cut through the cervix to do a D & C to get the biopsy of the
tissue and cells to see if I have Uterine Cancer and if so then I have
to have a hysterectoy. I worked for Gynoclogistd so I, unfortunately know
that I have a few of the symptoms and it's not good! I am scared to death!
There is still a chance that it could be nothing....but. So, I was wondering
it anyone ever heard of this situation. None of my friends did and that just
made me feel worse. If anything please just pray for me...Opal

Hi AL! I'm here, I've been reading your discussions and as always love them.
Just haven't been able to concentrate much on my responding. Have alot going
on besides this nightmare. Will try to be here and respond more and maybe it
will keep my mind off this while I'm waiting for my surgery.

I have tried to find something about a locked cervix and the only references my search comes up with are regarding pregnant women. But for cervical cancer I found this site. I have used this site for many things. It has very good information about everything (illnesses) It is a homeopathic website. www.earthclinic.com/CURES/cervical-cancer.html I hope it provides some kind of help or guidance or you. I'm sorry you are having this type of problem. Hopefully you will come through everything alright. I wish you well.

Can they not do a needle biopsy?
Hope everything turns out ok and that you're "up and at 'em real soon".

Hi Barbara! They tried to do a sort of biopsy, but they couldn't get past
my Cervix even with this tiny thin instrument. That is why I have to have
this biopsy/surgery where they will have to cut open the Cervix to get
through to the Uterus so they can get the sample of the fluid that they need.

Sorry to hear about your problems Opal. I was worried about you when I hadn't seen you in awhile. I don't want to make you feel worse, but that's not something I'd ever heard of either. I do hope everything turns out ok. Please keep us posted!

Hi kats! I'm still here! Just dealing with alot of unpleasant stuff right
now. Will explain in my next discussion. I worked for a Gyno Doc and I
never heard of this either. I will keep evryone informed. My Pre-Op visit
to my regular Doc is next week and the surgery is Sept. 26th. It is Ambulatory
Surgery, meaning I will go home the same day. The worst part will be waiting
a week for the results.

I can imagine how nerve racking that will be. Try to keep your mind off it as much as possible. I hope it goes smoothly and the results are good!

I wish I could have heard from you under different circumstances,
I really don't know what that means either and I hate to say it but i never ever been to an Gynecologist cause I'm afraid what they might find.
I have some female issues but I figure if it doesn't hurt or make me uncomfortable why mess with it.
i hope everything works out for you and I keep you in my thoughts.
I missed talking to you

Hi missy! Always great to hear from you. I have one more discussion to explain
what else has been going on. I don't like to hear that you have never been to a
Gynecologist! You need to go. If I didn't go for my routine test I wouldn't
know there were certain things wrong that I've already had taken care and
they turned out ok. I know it's scary, but woman have to stay pro-active and
get checked out! Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts! I miss talking to you
too!

I'm sorry I cannot help you with this one. I had a D&C procedure in November 2006 because of a blighted pregnancy.
I just feel like I need to respond to this only to give you encouragement that it might not be something serious. I will include you in my prayers.

Hi toniganzon! I appreciate the prayers! I also had a D&C for the same
reason many years ago. This one is a bit different since I am definitely
not pregnant and they need to use the "fluids and tissues" to check for
abnormal or cancerous cells. Thanks again for the kind words.

Hi my lil' sis! There have been alot of stuff going on and alot of it
has to do with my mom and trying to get the Power of Attorney away from
her thief lawer! I also am having problems with my Liver. My doc doesn't
know if it's the Lipitor, my cholesterol med that is causing it so he
keeps taking me off it, putting me back and the Liver values keep elevating!
He even asked me if I had been drinking and when I said no he asked me
"do I swear"? That isn't a good thing! And of all the times I would
probably want to drink, I can't! Lucky for me I am continuing my Sobriety!
I miss you! and love, Les

Of course you will be in my prayers. But aren't you lucky that you have Doctors who care enough about doing a good job that they insist you go through these proceedures. Hopefully if it turns out to be a cancer they will be able to get it all. Love and blessings to you.

Hi Ritter! Great to see you to! Been having alot of stuff going
on besides this so haven't been around much lately. My mom
was diagnosed with Dementia in November and we have had some
serious issues with that. (Will explain that horror in another
discussion). I am going for my pre-op with my regular Doc on
Tuesday. Am also having trouble with my Liver values, possibly
from my Cholesterol meds so have been on and off them trying
to get that issues straight! Not having fun this year at all!

Hi fantabulus~ If your daughter is bleeding from taking Birth Control
Pills than she should stop. I had bad side effects from when I took
them years ago and had to stop them. If your daughter has cysts on
her ovaries that can be corrected with surgery. Maybe you should take
her to see another doctor?

I have to say I have never heard of this kind of medical situation. I am sorry you have to go through this and will keep you in my prayers.
Since last fall I have been undergoing mammograms, ultrasounds, biopsy and then the same thing again. Finally I will be going for surgery in a couple of weeks to have a lump removed. I have seen pathology test results and know what I have always known - I DO NOT HAVE CANCER. I refuse to believe that I do. For one thing I believe God does not give us more than we can handle. Dealing with fibromyalgia for the past 15 years, I KNOW I could not handle cancer. The other reason is there is no cancer in my family anywhere. I know that's not a guarantee but I feel my odds are good. I hope your's are too. (((((HUGS))))
Good luck.

Hi pat! I had a lump removed about 6 years ago and it was benign. I
will pray for you too. I also have Fibromyalgia and sacarilitis.
I was just diagnosed this year. I am in extreme pain so I know
how you feel. I have my Primary Doc on "High Alert"(lol) because
he knows I can't deal with anything! He wrote me the cutest email
back when I told him what was going one. I know he'll be there for
me so that makes me feel a little better. All my Docs are connected
to one huge medical group which shares computers so he can see exactly
what's going on. If you want to talk in private send me a PM~

Opal it's so nice to see you but not a good thing to read your discussion. Of course you have my prayers! My daughter went through a few things earlier this year and had to have a hysterectomy. She had fibrous cysts on her uterus. She also had cysts on the outside of her uterus the size of grapefruit!!! She is fine now and we'll cross our fingers that you are too!

Hi jill~ Sorry to hear about your daughter, but glad they found the
fibroids. They told me I have one small one, but nothing to worry
about. It seems to be this fluid that they are worried about.
If they could have just done the regular biopsy I would have known
by now, but since they couldnn't I have to have this surgical
produre which is much more invasive. I have no choice. I just
wish I didn't have to wait so much longer. Thanks for the prayers!

Hi Hatley~ And thank you for your kind words. I am hoping for the
best since it's now been about six weeks since I had the sonogram
and the surgery is still 3 weeks away! I'll be getting the news
right around my 60th birthday so I am really hoping that everything
is going to be alright. I have been losing weight, although I have
to admit I have no appetite and have to force myself to eat so that
is another concern. Thank you for your prayers. and
blessings to you too~

I understand how you feel as earlier this year i had abnormal bleeding and it was not normal period. I went through papsmear and i was advised to have a biopsy as well.. but i still did not go and had a biopsy till now..
as i am also scared like you and well the bleeding stopped now and its been months since i have abnormal bleeding and hopefully it was just nothing.
i know the feeling of something bad will happen at the same time a part of you is praying it is nothing at all..but maybe like me you will also find comfort in praying and holding on to your Faith that somehow you will get better and it will all be fine. you have my prayers.

I am glad to see you back again but i was mia for about six months too. You will feel better once this is diagnosed Opal. It is the not knowing that is troublesome and scary. Once something has a name then you know exactly what you are up against. I promise to pray for you and your recovery and that it is not cancer. But if it is then it is being caught early and the US has the best treatment for cancers in the world.

Hi cyn! It's so great to see you back! How are you feeling? I
was reading the updates on your progress and sooooo happy
you are doing better and back with us! I really appreciate all
my "lotter friends" being here for me and sending prayers for me!
It worked for you! I still have 3 weeks until the surgery and the
waiting is difficult. I haven't been here much for awhile now myself.
I have a very serious issue with my Mom who was diagnosed with Dementia
in November and her lawyer who we believe is stealing her money. So
I have been dealing with that and some other health issues too. My
doc took me off Lipitor, my Cholesterol meds because it seems to be
killing my Liver! Like I said I've been a bit distracted lately~
