Sunset or sunrise?

I have just watched the sun sink below the surrounding hills. It is a moment I always treasure. The colour of the sky after the sun has set gives a clue to the weather the next day. During the recent heatwave the sky turned a deep orange which got darker as the night came on. Tonight the sky was a lovely pink and the sky around was blue. It was beautiful. Tomorrow will be a good day. I am not an early riser so I rarely see the sunrise. I imagine that it is also quite beautiful and wonder if it arouses the same feelings of serenity as a sunset...

The colors at sunset are so beautiful. My picture is actually of the sunset in fall of last year in the lakes area around me. Sunsets make me feel calm and relaxed. I find a sunrise to be very invigorating. It is wonderful to hear the birds start chirping as life springs forth in the offering of the new day.

sunset and sunrise are many beautiful moments and memories and is very nice to see them and feel them. I've seen the sunrise sunset but I just do not get up early, so I only see the sunset. thank you for this discussion.

When we have so many fires around us our sunsets are red and purple. I like the Autumn ones that are more deep pinks. When I was a child I liked the time just before sunset when it was just beginning to get dark. We call it 'twilight'. For me when I was a child it was that last bit of time before we had to go in for the night. That was exciting for me. Then when I grew older the sunset was serene and calm time. Relaxing.

I´m more the kind of person that watches the sun set, although if a open my eyes every morning, I should be able to watch it rise over the mountains every morning. I have taken several pictures of sunsets when I go on vacations elsewhere but never a single picture or my own sun

Before when i just stay at home, I used to wake up early to do house chores. And so, I always watch the sunrise that makes me feel enlightened by new day after yesterday. Same as the sunset, i observed the changed of color of the skies as it slowly wave goodbye to have a rest. mostly, view of sunset is lovely to watch at sea shores. Now I'm already working, sad to say that I can't do what I usually do like the old times.

I'm not exactly an early riser either, but I do enjoy watching the sun set in the evening. The colors it gives to the sky are often amazingly beautiful. It's very nice to look at and very inspirational.

I have also enjoyed watching sunsets, especially if they were over the ocean. Sunsets were very colorful when I used to live in Australia, as they tended to be a deep red, which was beautiful. Sunrises are also very special to me, as like you, I am not an early riser, so I can remember having to get up early to take somebody to the airport and it was beautiful having to drive when the traffic was still low and the surroundings were peaceful.

41combedaleRoad hi Although we are roused at 6 am I do not get to see the sunrise and as sleepy as I am the only thought on my mind then I wish I could sleep til 8 am. lol But I love the sunsets here in Southern California as they are always so beautiful. I do get a feeling of serenity from the colors and the way it sets.Down on the Pacific Ocean a few miles away it is truly spectacular as it seems to siet right in the ocean.lol loll

It is so good to appreciate things like this. I think the feeling of serenity comes in absorbing nature. Sometimes I look at the sky and think that as long as this planet has been here, that same sky has been up there and it's always something you can count on. I enjoy watching birds and animals, imagining their uncomplicated lives. I'm with you, I'm not an early riser but this summer we stayed at a bed and breakfast that overlooked the shore from a cliff. The windows in our room faced the shore and the east, so I woke up some mornings just in time to watch it rise and it is colorful. I always loved the red sunsets in the summer. As I've heard "red sun at night, sailor's delight" implying the next day would be warm and calm. That always made me smile ;-)
