Sell My Art

I am in the process of pursuing what I love. Almost all my life I've been an artist. I was brought up thinking that I could never make a living doing what I love. So I searched for second best. It didn't give me the same satisfaction as creating a work of art from nothing. So I've decided to pursue my art and would love advice on best practices to promote and sell me work. What works for you?

Here in the UK we have too many 'Artists'. When I say 'Artists', I mean people who use the word and aren't artists in the way I think of artists. I think you have to be different and stamp your own style on things. Damien Hirst and Tracy Emin do nothing for me and you couldn't pay me to go to one of their exhibitions, but they obviously please someone. I think you have to self-promote and try and get yourself noticed by finding out who the eminent art critics of the day of and either sending them your art, or displaying it somewhere and inviting them along. I don't know how good you are, but I wish you luck!

Seriously...I just looked these two artists up because I didn't know who they were...I guess they don't do anything for me either. But I LOVE you idea about putting myself in front of art critics. Didn't even think of that. Thank you.
