Resume/CV/Bio Data

I'm a college guy. So haven't yet applied for a formal job. But I know that we need to submit a statement of our qualification, experience, etc. to the employer. Many regard to this as bio data. Some employers ask you to apply with a resume. Withal some ask for a CV. Now this is puzzling. As far as I believe all are basically the same, a statement. Or am I wrong and there exists distinct differences?

I also believe that Resume and CV are just the same except for Bio Data which is I think that is already an old fashion. As graphic artist I always submit resume that has design so that people would totally believe that I am a graphic artist.

Yes, there are differences of the three. The Bio Data shows your basic information, birthdate, parents' names, height, weight, and all other biological data that they need. Usually these are used for people applying for jobs that need physical information (for flight attendants, front desk clerks, etc.). This also includes or requires photos. As for the CV, it's a comprehensive information about you. This includes your family background, who your parents/spouse and kids are. Where you graduated and what you have achieved. Your ladder to where you are now. This is usually required for those running for office or for an application for Thesis in the academe or an event where the people needs to know more about you. For the resume, it's built or designed to fit the job that you're applying for. They don't need other data that they don't really require. Most want straight-to-the-point lists of what you can do in line with what you're applying for. They wouldn't really care if you have a dozen kids because that will not affect your job. hehe.. Have a great mylot experience ahead!

no one submits bio datas anymore. those are for those who do not have access to computers so they just buy the form to fill it up. but i doubt that you'll get a good job with that. if you want to know more about the diff of cv and resume take a look at this link http://jobsearch.about.com/cs/curriculumvitae/f/cvresume.htm (not a referral link)

hi, a bio data form is one which is available in the ready made form ,in the stationary shops, all you need to do is, fill up the form or the answers to the available question s, the CV which is curriculum vitae or the resume is the one which we prepare with all our information , but in a different format (unlike bio data form) i hope you know it.

CV is more comprehensive style than resume. Nowadays, it is commonly used by the aspiring applicants.
