In my home country the summer season is a lovely time to spend by the beach. That is if we have sunshine and warm weather. My local beaches are made from yellow sand so they are great for kids building sandcastles. Swimming isn't possible due to dangerous tides and sinking mud.
I used to live in Kent seven years ago and there I had a huge choice of beaches within half an hours distance. I liked the sandy coves like Botany Bay, the town beach of Dover with the castle views and the pebble beach in Hastings. Sometimes I would take my bike on the train and cycle along the coastal bike track. I liked seeing the lighthouse on the white cliffs.
I adore traveling to different countries and my favorite sort of beach is a tropical beach. I love to see gentle waving palm trees and it is wonderful for there to be a nearby coral reef for me to enjoy snorkeling around.
Which types of beaches do you have in home country?
Have you had a vacation with time on a lovely beach?
Which type of beach do you like most of all?

I would love to visit the Philippines and experience being on its gorgeous beaches. I know I would adore seeing Palawan, El Nido and Boracay. I adore long stretches of white sand and palm trees. I have a calendar of 2011 with a picture for every day. When it shows a beach in the Philippines I think wow.

I love beach as well and the place I belong to have crystal clear beaches. it is so wonderful to see the white sand through the crystal clear waters. I love top sit and watch and sometimes just to stand in the water and see everything under water.
Now I am in Goa and there is so much of beach here as well and there are mostly white and yellow sand. It is also a tropical place so I love it here too. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

I love the sound of the beaches in an around Goa in India. How fantastic they seem with white sand and crystal clear water. It is lovely you can stand still and see clearly in the water. Have a lovely day and thanks for your wonderful response to my discussion.

If I was to go to a real beach on the ocean I have to drive quite a few hours to get there. There are a few man made beaches around here that are small ponds with sand on one small area. Kids enjoy it thats all that really matters. Thats not fun that you can play in the sand at the beaches by you but not in the water. Thats scary if a child happened to run in when a parent turned their back for a few seconds. I hope there are lifeguards.

It is interesting you live a few hours drive in land from the ocean. It is lucky you locality has a few man made beaches. Paddling can be fun for young children if the water is shallow and calm. Yes, having a life guard on watch makes everyone feel safer.

I live in Malaysia. We have many small islands around us
like Penang, Redang, Tioman, Pangkor and Port Dickson.
The Kuantan beaches are beautiful too. Club Med is situated
there.
The beaches turn golden in color when the sun setting on it.
It is absolutely captivating. I remembered making sand castles
with my son at those beaches.
We also have man made beaches at the Mines Beach Resort

I grew up in a house which was just a 10-minute walk from the beach. It wasn't the best beach, but it was great for early morning walks and runs.
I remember when I was young, if we traveled an hour away, we get to white sand beaches. I think those are the best kind! They were usually near resorts where there were lots of amenities like restaurants, and spas, etc.

Interesting topic. Wherever and in whichever country that I have visited, I have taken advantage of the opportunity to have beach experiences.
At home, I have been to Goa where there are many beaches. The one I enjoyed the most was when I visited that place during the rainy season. One particular moment was to watch revelers soaking in the heavy showers while we were sipping hot tea cozily sitting in a tea stall by the beach! Goa is lush green at that time.
Close to my house are several beaches too. The one that is the closest is quite isolated and is heaven for those who wish to spend some quiet moments. There are several coconut trees skirting this beach.
There is one more a bit more sophisticated as there is a beach resort. I have entertained my guests there including two events. One for class mates and one for orphans where I had a christmas get together for them.
I could go on and on about the beaches in this country that I have visited and enjoyed. This beach in the Metro where I lived most part of my youth before shifting here to a semi rural town has countless memories. My then fiance and I would be strolling hand in hand when he would sing for me in his baritone range and one song still lingers in my memory and that is 'Easter Parade' This beach is packed with people and vendors that sell mostly fast food.
I like clean beaches and the cleanest that I ever experienced was the Bondi Beach in Australia though I could spend just a few minutes there.
The Coco Cay beach in the Bahamas has pure white sands!! I had gone on a luxury cruise by the Sovereign of the Seas. There is a lot of greenery and we even found wild grapes which we grabbed and enjoyed them!!
