This is a common problem that parents face. Your child is just normal. Children have so much energy that they need to spend it, but they are made to sit still in class. By the time they get home they are just needing to run it off unfortunately the parents have to deal with it. Activities are a good way to allow a child to spend some of that energy and may allow them to focus on their school work better. I would say you are on the right track with the drum lessons. You may want also allow some playtime after school to burn off some of the energy before doing homework. Good luck!

Just let him spend a little energy like around 30 minutes before homework and promise him that after his homework is complete he will be able to play more. As far as being tired after homework it wont matter and kids usually let you know when they are tired and do not want to play anymore. For him getting sick...has it ever happened before? Kids should be able to play for hours on end without a second thought. After mine do their homework and chores they go outside and climb trees, ride bikes, and many other activities and I wont see them until I call them for supper (of course they are older than yours so constant supervision is not needed anymore). If your son tires or gets sick easy there may be an underlying issue that should be addressed to a doctor.

I honestly think that children spending the entire day at school is something that will contribute to them being a lot more hyper while they are at home. I have noticed this with my son to a certain extent since he has been in school for the past month. However, he started his fall baseball season just a couple weeks ago and his having the activity of playing baseball several times a week has been something that has helped him to calm down some at home.

Hi friend, my elder son is also a hyper active person and we send therapy classes to reduce his activities, now he reduced his activities a lot. Every parents wish to have a good and active kid, but some times this kind of activeness will give some unwanted worries to us, as you mentioned you planned to send him to a class, hope it will reduce his activities

I am not more on watching a pure love story, it makes me shriek out of my wit.lol. I was kidding up, the only thing I think of watching such genre is that I have flashbacks of my past relationships. Sometimes I smiled and laugh, then my friends will look at me puzzled. The mere fact, I can still remember the giggling moment of the old days.
