Do you love me? - "I Love Myself More..." d:(

This is a story that I can never forget. I have a lady friend; she was smart, witty, well-empowered woman. You can see how she carries herself, the styles, the moves and so bubbly when she talks. If I have the chance to know her earlier, I would totally lay my eyes on her simplicity. The mere fact, she's a long way older than me. She's married with three kids and a loving spouse. Basically, she was contented as a wife, a mother and a friend. It was a happy family. Here it comes, the highlight of the love story, she never thought of getting married after graduating from her college years. The guys are checking on her during those days, no one captured her heart. When she had boyfriends from the past,but the feeling is not that intense. She feels guilty about it. One of her boyfriend even asked, "Do you love me? She immediately replied, "I love myself more..." I shook my head and laughed out loud. But then, the thought of not getting married had changed, when she met the guy from a party. It was a whirlwind love affair, the twist of fate made her getting married, to a man of her dream. Love really works in a mysterious way. You can never tell, when it will strike on the right time and place.

Do you mean that after she got married and has 3 kids, the guys from her past came along and wanted her to marry him? I really didn't quite catch what you mean here. Could you paraphrase your story?

My apology if the text passages are not that clear. No one came, those are the ex-relationships she had in college years. She met and married her hubby at present, after graduating from college. Their love blossomed after seeing and acquainted in a party. Thank you for taking the time to read my discussion.

That sound much like a novel story than a real one, just a personal view.
Logically they truth may be different than the portrayed or framed story.
Like in the starting it was I live myself more was the attitude and this remains for some time but later on with the disintegration of psychological firmness and attitude of self preference was faded with time and the real power was weakened and the person might need arms to hold him/ her. This made the person to choose anyone who by instance met him/ her at that moment or point of time. This as the believe concept works made the person believe that this (he/ she) is the 'ONE'. this just a state of mind.

I am glad she found someone. I think that a lot of people feel that way when they are younger, but most would not come out and say such a thing.

You know what, I really think that this woman was on to something. I do believe that the one person that you love the most in the world should be yourself. The reason that I feel this way is because of the fact that I honestly think that if you are not able to love yourself then there is no way that you are able to love other people.
I would never go to the extent of saying out loud that I loved myself the most, but I do know that it is the case in my life, with the exception of my children and that only changed after my children were born.

Yeah I guess her strong personality is what brought her the right guy for herself. I think there is really nothing wrong when she states she loves herself more because we should follow that belief. I believe that to be able to attract others to what you want in life you should love yourself first before loving others. You should not expect someone to complete you because you yourself should be complete when you meet the right guy.

You got that right , love just sneak up on you and it never explain . Love let you forget all the walls you build and just take your breath away . I always though I would only be friend with my fiance but I fall so hard in love we both were caught off guard. We laugh about it now and say can you believe how we fell in love without even realizing it was happening .

maybe she was just able to say those words " i love myself more" because she does and she is not ready to love someone else first until she found someone she could love more than herself and she knows he is the worthy person for it... that is how i perceived her to be...and she is right you know?
i always believe that before you could love someone, you have to love yourself more.. you have to love yourself first before you could love someone else.

Yes, we should never let ourselves be with a man that we don't love. It has to be that we love the man so much, so there will be the willingness to marry.
And one way of avoiding heartaches indeed is loving ourselves more.

Well, in Italian is said to fall into the so-called "lightning strike", that is, to explain it in simple words, love at first sight.
From what you wrote in your question, it would seem that this beautiful woman (or girl if you prefer), has been slow to choose their "soul mate", until one day, here comes the person of her dreams so desired.
Well in fact you ended your thread with a phrase, where you say explicitly that love is just weird.
In some cases, also in Italian, it is also said that love is blind!

Haha. That line is what I say to those boys who keeps on telling me they love me but they've just met me.
But I remember a summer fling/ boyfriend told me I love you before and I wasn't ready to say I love you too because I think "I LOVE YOU" is a strong word. It's something that we should think about before saying because it's not a play thing. So I just responded with "thank you". He must have thought I was weird.

oh, i guess sometimes people just do have to find that one person that would make them love others as well, to the level of how they love themselves. it is true though that one has to love oneself first before they can love others... we cannot give what we do not have.
I always believe that this is the case, we should always be on guard though and not think that everyone that comes in our way is the one.. it would only lead us to imperfect love. etc... true love waits and i guess when it is the right time, we will know, we will be swept off our feet and we will for sure know that the person is the one we are to marry, regardless of what we are feeling.

i could never say it s true to me but still have to wait a long time. before a lightning strikes well just joking. nobody yet found me or the exactly opposite way had not find hm yet. so this whirlwind romance cause makes anyone tell fantastic story to there future grandchildren. this become a adage, that true love wait and waiting has a good rewards. to the unbeliever, will half just like me will see if ever happen to me i could really say love moves in a mysterious way just like in the song of mymp.

Then I think the guy she met at the party was the one she really loves. She was able to say "I love myself more" because she probably didn't like those guys that much, and nobody has seemed to capture her elusive heart until the man from the party came along. I also believe in "right time, right place, right person." It was simply her time to fall in love. :)
