I was in a meeting with a group of people at work for like the whole this friday. It was such a busy day for exchanges of ideas and of views and comments and data gathering. The whole of the morning, we have had a good discussion and everyone seemed attentive and energized for the workday that is ahead of us.
then came the afternoon session... after lunch we were in the same room, we were all in the same positions or places we have sat in the morning. The only difference now is that everyone seemed sleepy, too full to move or ask questions? i don't really know as to why every afternoon people seemed a bit too tired to do anything. ha ha :D have you had such an afternoon where you feel really tired or too damned sleepy to do anything else but worry how you can escape not yawning or not falling in to a dream in broad day light? he he

Oh, if you only informed me earlier, we make them dance the Gangnam Style. he he. Maybe you should have a copy of that dance whenever you have an training or seminar. After the lunch break or every time you see them falling asleep. Although we don't have this latest dance craze, we also have several ice breaker ready with us during seminars.

I think that it is our body that has been designed to be this way. Plus, in the morning we have a lot of energy and use it, by afternoon our body feels tired. Lunch also makes the body sleepy. It also, depends on the hours of sleep you have at night. The more you sleep late, the more you will feel sleepy in the afternoon, especially if you are feeling bored.

I go thru this too. I am more active and hyper in the morning then after I have had my lunch i am sleepy and yawning by 1pm. My shift ends at 3pm daily and I feel like i am dragging after lunch. It's just the way our body reacts after getting some good food in us and you just have to stay active or else you will fall asleep on the job.

People always getting tired after eating meal at noon. So me too. Especially i have the habit to do sleep after eating and i suppose this is such a cool and relax thing to do in a day. So definitely love it. However, if i couldn't make it, than it is a disaster for my eyes.

I do have the same habit, after the engulfing meals during lunch time. Why do we feel sleepy? I think, the reason why we feel this way, due to lack of oxygen in our brain. The oxygenated blood focus on our tummy. Simply, to digest the food we in take. In times like this, I just have a cup of coffee.

I read some research and article about 'power nap'
after lunch. It seems a nap of 20 - 30 minutes is
good after lunch. It will re-energize our brain and
we will feel fresh and the productivity level will
be up.
We tends to feel very sleepy after a heavy lunch.
I normally felt very sleepy after having a delicious
Indian curry fish head rice. It is like taken a sleeping pill,
absolutely sleepy..going to dose off anytime!

Hi
The opposite for me. I am very lazy in morning times and as the day goes off i become active by afternoon. I dont why but i think i usually go to bed late may be this the reason why i feel restless in the morning due to less sleep.
But i agree if we have heavy lunch in the after noon we feel lazy and sleepy.

It is a natural reaction of our body to get sleepy after a full meal and we usually eat a lot for lunch, as to why people are less attentive and less active during after lunch until early afternoon hours.
Also, after a busy morning full of deadlines, it's just normal for you to get tired and have this need to doze off and rest in the afternoon.
