Hi ashrafonline, There is a division among Christians as to whether or not Jesus is God. Some say that he is God while others say no, he is the son of God. I don't know of any Christian denomination that says he is just a Prophet, but there are so many different groups that there could certainly be one or perhaps more. As for the teachings of Jesus, people interpret things in different ways and both quote the Bible to support their point of view. You Muslims believe that Jesus is a Prophet and that is good. I think that all people should respect each others beliefs and live in peace. Blessings.

Pose..I think the difference is in expression and cultures. If Prophet is the word used in relation to Mohammed, then the usage of the same word with Jesus keeps him at the same elevated status in the Muslim holy book, isn't it? People unnecessary take offence with the word without thinking things thoroughly.

"17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
Jesus proclaims his divinity also

As i and most belive only humans need Son, daughter ,wife and all .... God does not need anything ,
From this verse its clearly state that Jesus is not God..
and other thing is ,this verse is from New testament which is edited by some pope... Right..
Did pope have rights to change God's Verses ?

"As i and most belive only humans need Son, daughter ,wife and al"
You claim all but there are more Christians than Muslims so you cannot say all
The New testament was not edited by a pope, who told you that lie?
"Did pope have rights to change God's Verses ?" No, another untruth.
Only Jesus lived a sin free life, therefore only Jesus is in perfect communion with God, therefore his words take precedence over all scripture both prior and later than his. Any scripture that disagrees with the words of Jesus is false

Have you read the Bible in totality? Are you interested in knowing who Jesus really is? If you are interested then I won't ask you to read the entire Bible. Just read the Book of John and that would be sufficient enough for you to learn that Jesus is God. If I would quote verses that prove that Jesus is God, that would not be enough for you to believe His deity but if you will be able to read and understand the whole book of John then you will be truly enlightened about all questions you have about Jesus and His deity.

Jesus said 'Before Abraham was I am' - the Hebrew name for God is 'I am', and the Jews who heard this tried to stone Jesus for blasphemy. So both he and they knew what he meant. He could have said 'Before Abraham was I was' if he just was claiming to have had a previous life. He allowed his disciples to worship him after his resurrection. Thomas, one who initially doubted him, called him 'my Lord and my God', Jesus did not correct this. There are lots of things pointing out Jesus as God in the Bible. If you want a long answer you should do a search.

In his letter to the Colossians, Paul tells his readers,"He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation."
In John 1:1 we learn that, "In the beginning was the Word (Jesus) and the Word was with God and the Word was God."
As recorded in John 14:9 Jesus said, "Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father."
Are you familiar with the story of Moses and the burning bush (Exodus 3)? Moses asked God what he should say if asked who sent him, and God told him, "I AM WHO I AM." Then take a look at WHAT Jesus said as recorded in John 8:54 and 58, 54: "If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as God, is the one who glorifies me." 58: "I tell you the truth, before Abraham was born, I AM!"

I know what inspired this discussion for sure. :) Never mind. :) Does it matter? Is it going to increase your bank balance what another person believes or does not believe? Is it going to get you the girl you like or love? Is another person's belief going to increase or decrease your social standing? If not, are we not wasting our precious life? :) You must have understood my attitude. :)
