Do you have benefits at work when it is your birthday?

What is the deal in your office that you are working if you are having your birthday? Example if salary increase, double pay, you are allowed to have half day or 1 day leave? What else would be your benefit if you are having birthday in your office?
I remember the first company that I worked to that we are allowed to have half day which means after lunch we can go home if we are having a birthday. Though I haven't reached my birthday there so I never experienced that. Although here in the office that I am now working my officemate told me that our boss will add Php 500 on my salary when it is my birthday. How I wish I can experience that.

Oh, you're so lucky. A birthday leave would mean a lot. In my previous company, there was nothing more than an email blast greeting you on your day. But, we can always file a leave, and more often than not, it would be approved.

I have never got any benefits at work. Every day is a working day except weekends. It is very nice of your boss to give you some benefits on your birthday. How I wish that my boss would do the same to us employees. Good luck to you.

I have never been to a company that gives special bonuses or incentives when their employers birthdays come. But, with my current job, they do give us cakes on our birthdays. And that's just basically it, a simple cake which we can share with our officemates.

I've been in a company, an employee would be given a blessing by e-mail from secretary and all employees could shared a birthday cake to celebrate birthday. But afterwards, i never meet this company again, birthday just like ordinary day without any benifits. I think if company can give an employee benefits, like double pay, birthday-leave, its employees would work more hard and more loyal, which is good for company and employee both.

Well that is certainly great for you. I think that is certainly something that we can look forward to on thendaynof our birthday at work. But in the company that I worked to, there is no such kind of incentive. Lucky if you get greeted happy birthday... Usually the birthday guy does not tell everyone it's his birthday otherwise he or she will have to spend for snacks or treat office workers.

I've already spent four birthdays here at my current work but I haven't received any benefit. I hope there will be on my 5th or 6th or 7th... LOL. I guess my boss isn't that considerate. He is poor in socializing and is very good in taking advantage. Hahaha. Also, he only thinks about money. Maybe, a very small amount is very hard for him to give to his loyal and hardworking employess. I hope he's the only one like that in this world. Thanks for sharing and happy mylotting.

In one of my jobs before, our boss usually gives a budget for a small birthday gathering in our office. Unfortunately, I am no longer working in that company. It feels good that some employers give importance to the birthdays of their employees. I hope that many employers are like this.

In our agency, we can avail of a privilege leave for that. We call it birthday leave. Though, I never avail of that yet because I have so many things to do in the office so I would most often go to work even if its my birthday. I would use my privilege leave in some other day.

Hope that is true it's a really nice treat :-) Well with my present job I can request for a day off on my birthday but I should tell him 2 weeks before because of course I can't expect him to remember when is my birthday. This year he sent $50 gift so hopefully next year he'll make it double :-)

How I wish I meet that company you're saying. That will pay you double when it's your birthday or even let you have a half day. But for me? All of the company that I have worked with, they did all the same thing to me. All their gift to me was to work overtime. Imagine that? You are working from 8am to 5pm and you're excited to go home because it is your birthday and you want to celebrate with your family then after the last break in the afternoon at around 3pm, your superior will come to you and hand to you the overtime signing form and ask you, no not ask, tell you to sign the OT form because the company needs more manpower to meet the delivery time blah blah blah... What a gift? I've work with a total of 7 companies now and that's what their gift to me, work overtime.

All of my work experiences, all of the company that I've worked with, they're all the same. They all won't leave me early. They've even asked me to work overtime. Imagine that. You work 8am-5pm, it's your birthday and you wanna go home early so that you can celebrate with your family and then at around 330pm your superior will come to you and hand over to you the Overtime rendering form? ah what a gift. I've been working for 6 years now and all of the company that I've been with, they've all done the same thing to me.
