A very tired end of the day yesterday September 18, 2012 (Philippines Time). After our Competency Assessment happened last September 12, 2012, we are given a claim sleep for our certificate. I woke up early at 4:30am. I travel from Las Pinas to Baclaran at 5am. I reached TESDA Tayuman at 7:30am. I was shocked, when I enter the building, I was belong to BATCH 19, each batch composed of 15 individuals. Calling by batch started at around 8:30am. Long hours to wait my turned until 2pm before my certificate was released. In your case what you will do, if it will took a very long time? Have you tried already the same situation?

Wow, that was really a long time. So what have you been doing , all the time that you were waiting. I also experienced lining up for i think, my NBI clearance, many many years ago. To while the time away, i read a Reader's Digest i would always bring in my bag.

I always found myself closing my eyes. Better my seatmate a woman who was have a sense of humor and a joker. She was talking to a woman next to her. They talked funny things, that's the reason I laughed also even I'm not part of them.

By the way, when I got my NBI clearance it takes only about 10 minutes and leave the facilities. It happened I was in the province when my agency called me to submit my NBI clearance.

That's good that you were entertained while waiting. And at least it wasn't for so long, because it was only for 10 minutes.

Hi, I think its your first time to do such long waiting for your turn in a government office. For me, I would say that waking up at 4:30am and being called at around 2pm is such a short period of waiting in a government office. Now that you've got your TESDA certificate, its time to look for a new job, right? First you'll have to get your NBI clearance (probably in UN-Taft) in which you will experience the real "waiting time" for the common Filipino people. Then, you'll need to wait for long periods of time again waiting for your turn for the interview with a potential job. If your lucky enough to get the job, you'll patience will again be tested in the waiting line in a medical room for your medical exam. And if you're willing to go abroad, you'll need to get your birth certificate in the NSO office at QC wherein your patience will be again tested. After that you'll need to secure a passport and you'll need to wait again for long periods of time for your turn. You see, in our adult period of life, our patience is always tested by waiting long hours. Its a part of being a Filipino citizen here in our country. And to make matter's worst, you'll also need to wait for long hours a day during traffic just to go from one place to another in Metro Manila. It's a waiting game, and the more patience you have, the bigger the probability that you will succeed on whatever endeavor you might want to be.

I was annoyed because I am not a first timer OFW, just recently arrived here in the Philippines last April 26, 2012. I spend more than 2 years in a 5 star hotel in Saudi Arabia, now I transferred to another country, the situation change. After I got my NC-II certificate, need to fall in line again in DFA for my NBI red ribbon. I am lucky I got my NBI clearance in the province so no long line to wait your turn. Now I am waiting my contract, I got my working visa already this week.

I wasn't lucky because my mobile was battery empty. No other thing to do except closing my eyes.

You are not alone in this predicament. I had that experience two years ago when I took my competency test in computer hardware servicing. My goodness, I arrived at the center at exactly 7:30am but unfortunately I was accommodated at around 11am already. It actually disrupted all my planned activities that day and I have to cancel appointments just to have the assessment. You know, this should improved already. Otherwise, we will still be the same today, yesterday and forever...

It's really pathetic if your are like a stranded to a place that you don't want to stay. Aside from that, you will lost some of your scheduled jobs. There is a solution but because of self interest, they don't like to apply.

Hi july! I usually brought with me a book or magazine whenever I leave home so that I could have something to read whenever I am in a situation like this. But when I discovered that I could actually participate in myLot using my cellphone, I have no idle moment anymore. I just see to it that my cellphone is fully charged. Actually I am planning to buy a new cellphone with a wider screen because I find it hard to type using my present cp because the keys are so small and I commit a lot of mistakes.

Waiting in line is as normal as breathing here in our country. lol :). Well, I had a lot of experiences with that, standing in line for three hours just to get past step 1 on getting an NBI Clearance. Waiting for two hours just to get your picture taken for your SSS ID? Name it, I have encountered it. Oh well, patience is the key as they say, patience is a virtue. Learn to live with it as that is how the world goes. No pain no gain :)

Because of the situation of the surroundings your patience will be tested and lost. Better if you are waiting in a full aircondition room but it's very hot outside so you be frustrated.

Hi, That's quite a wait! I still have to experience something like that. Most of the time, I time my schedule to keep waiting time to a minimum, too long in the line I consider a total waste of time. If I could, I would go to other concerns nearby, like going down to the mall to window shop or to purchase that item I have been drooling on for sometime, or I would bring a laptop along to browse the web or finish that paper that needs editing. In that way, I maximize my time and not waste it.

Do you think you will be comfortable doing something in your laptop? It will catched attention from fellow applicants. Some of them play their mobile phones only. I was not lucky, I forgot to charge my phone. I cannot skip from the line because more than 700 people like me waiting also their turn. I don't have friend with me.

I am quite used to this situation. If I know that I'm in for a long waiting time, I usually bring a book or two for the wait. Video games and music i my cell phone also helps to take the boredom away. If not, I make lists of things that I can do after getting the required document. That way I don’t watse anymore time and I can compesate for my waiting period.

That was the first time I went to TESDA, never know that more than 700 individuals like me, claim also their NCII certificate. My mobile was battery empty. No other thing to do, except waiting my turn.

Hi julyteen so you're in the Philippines at this time. Well, I had experienced waiting a day before your waiting too. I was at the clinic for my fractured foot. I waited almost the whole daylight because the only ortho in our city had to perform 3 surgeries for the whole daylight. I was checked up by the doctor at around 3pm. I just entertained myself by texting and reading.

Yes I am still here in the Philippines my friend. My working visa tentatively will come end of this month. The problem yesterday, I forgot to charge my mobile so I was battery empty the whole day.
