Baby names from media?

For those who have kids or wanting to have kids, did you ever think of naming your child based on someone's name from a movie, television show, book, or any other types of media? If so, did you actually name your child based on a person or character from a media source? I brought up this question because my cousin is going to have a baby and she asked me about ideas for possible baby names. I asked her if it was a boy or a girl, but she would not give me a straight answer because she wants it to be a surprise for the family. I just suggested some random names of characters from novels, movies, and video games that I enjoy.

As early as 4 months into pregnancy, I already have a list of baby names that I want for my baby. I just think of a name that I want and look it up at the baby names book for its meaning. When I was pregnant with my 3rd child, his nickname came first in my mind before his full name. I don;t know why i had in mind was "Yan Yan". Maybe because I was fond of eating that bread stick dipped in chocolate.

Yes, it's understandable for parents to use the method of baby name books for naming their children. It's the method my parents used to give me a name. It's good to hear you like chocolate snacks. I love chocolate snacks and my friends say I like them too much. Yan Yan is an excellent choice for a chocolate snack and possibly a name as well. Anyway, thanks for your comment, jenny1015.

Oh yes I would always want one of my daughters to be named as loralie from Gilmore girls:) and I would want her to be as cheery and as optimistic as she was:)

That is great to hear about you already thinking of naming one of your daughters after a character from a television show. When people name their children, I think they always try to consider giving their children a meaningful name. Although I am not a parent yet, I will also try to give my kid a meaningful name. Thanks for your comment, night01watcher.

Well, I personally, at the moment I do not have this kind of problem.
However this your thread, is somewhat relevant to myself.
And yes, I say this because my name is Alessandro. And you want to know why my name is that? Simple. My mother in adolescence saw the film of Alexander the Great, the Macedonian. From that moment, she said, If I have a child, I would call it just Alessandro.
And here I am, I introduce myself, my name is Alessandro, but I'm not Great!

I have never named any baby as yet and I don't have any kid as yet too. I wonder what to name. I guess many people go for the famous names and some I don't know where bring those unique names from. My cousins sons name they gave him is like "ojesvi" . now what is this name? lol I was wondering when i came to know it. anyway you have a good idea to choose characters. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

Oh, I do not have a kid yet either. But my cousin got me thinking about the potential future about me becoming a father someday. However, I still have other things to think about before settling down and having kids. But thinking about names early might not be bad idea though. Thanks for your comment, riyauro.
