I mean boxes that you buy things in, for example coffe maker, or Christmas ornaments.
Maybe, it's because I live at home, and you pack it back in the box and store it or else it disappears. I got a playpen for Max & Gizmoe, everytime they are done with it I will fold it up put it in the box then in the cupboard.
I got a cage outside for the cats for the summer months, I will soon have to unfold it and put it away in the box.
My friend was laughing at me, but I think most bigger items I have the original box. Such as my blender I bought it about 6 years ago, and kept the box all through college, and even now everytime I finish using it I will put it back in the box onto the shelf.
When I have my own place, with no roomates I don't know if I would keep the boxes or not. Maybe, for the things not used often, but the everyday items.

I usually keep some box that i thought i would use it back. Like you said, a box of coffee maker, or christmas ornaments i will keep that. But like a box when i buy table, or mineral water i usually throw it away. Because its just make my house full of boxes. But honestly is a good way to save the boxes, so when we need that to pack other things, we don't need to buy boxes again.
Have a nice day :)

There's nothing wrong in keeping boxes, it helps us being organized and use some in the future. It is also my practice in keeping those and I love putting away things that are not in use so often and stored it in boxes so to keep it in good condition. and also for future usage, those boxes comes in handy.

Some of the boxes have a great nostalgic value. Some others are handy for packing off a lot of big, bulky things. So, we tend not to dispose them off. Then, some just keep on lying in our house, and rarely we find the time to use them or dispose them. They exit during festive season cleaning.

I keep the boxes for some items. For instance, we still have the box for our printer. That makes it easier to pack it up when we are moving--something we have done several times during the past couple years.

Yes Ricki I do keep my boxes. The items may not be what the box says, but I do keep them. I just moved recently and have all my containers that I used to move with. Most of them are empty and are sitting in my shed while others are in my storage bin. I will keep a few of them so I can put my Christmas ornaments and Christmas decorations in. One of my containers has my craft items in it and as soon as I get money I will be buying a shoe bag so I can store my fabric. I am also going to buy a bookcase to store my current projects as well as some of my craft books. I would keep the boxes because you never know if you will need them or not.

Hello Ricki. I do keep boxes but not the same way or reason you do. I keep some of the boxes that the top Ramon Noodles comes in. They are nice for keeping shelves neat. I also like small boxes and sometimes I have a hard time getting rid of them.I just plain like small boxes. If I could find a good enough reason I would also save and keep interesting jars and plastic bottles.

I keep boxes for some items like shoe boxes and such, but when there is no space for more, I get them recycled by selling them to a recycling person.

I have the box that the 360 I have came in, and that's the only box I kept. I don't try to keep boxes, but for the 360 I want to be sure it's the upmost protected when I move. Also if I need to store it for any reason, it's more safe in the original box then any other box.

Funny, but I do keep the boxes of things that either I have purchased or gifts from friends. I just feel I need to hand on it till the thing gets broken, then it would be easier to dispose them with it inside.

I keep the strong boxes, whatever size. I've moved home a number of times and big boxes are useful and prevent breakages. Why buy a plastic container if you have a suitable size box to hand? It is environmentally friendly to recycle boxes.
My cats have cat boxes, which once housed TVs, I use lots of small ones for my craftwork and I still keep my digital camera safe in the box in which I bought it, complete with instruction manual and electric cord. Shoe boxes are my favourites, they are such a handy size, I never throw one away.

It so happened that I don't keep the boxes. I guess I am not good in keeping things in their places. That is why I don't mind the boxes. If a neighbor happens to see an empty box and ask me, I will surely give. I just realized that if we keep the boxes the item will be kept in an orderly and systematic way.

Oh Ricki, you remind me of my mom, she takes care all her kitchen stuff so well even blender she bought over 15 years ago it still looks sparkle today because she always put it back in the box after using it. Me personally doesn't have that kind of patience, usually I keep the box for a month or till the warranty is up in case something wrong and need to be returned and after that either I put it in the basement storage (for seasonal stuff, x-mast decoration etc) or I just store them where they supposed tobe used.

I think once I move out, I may throw the boxes out. I kept them before as I was moving around with college, and even now it doesnt have the special spot in the cupboard whereas if I was living on my own I would. But even though I got them free, I would take care for them so they last longer.

I have been playing video games since I was little so they have always been really special to me. All of the games that I have are sort of like my collection that I don't want to let go of. I can be a bit of a nerd with video games as well so the boxes are sort of like memorabilia!

Right now,we have roomates. But,I am saving my big boxes so hopefully when our lease is up we can move.Plus,I also keep the smaller boxes for breakable things, like my candles that came in individual boxes, for packing purposes. But,generally I only keep boxes for lets say small appliances for 30 days or what ever the return date is for that particular item.
But,because I have roomates I do not pack my blender back in the box everytime. We have a Ninja Food Processor and put it back in the box after using it because there is no other place for it.And we do not use it on a daily basis.
When we get a place of our own then I will probably keep it on the counter or put on a shelf depending on how much space we have.As far as Christmas decorations....it depends on whether I have another place to store them.Such as a Christmas decoration bin.

You are supposed to keep the boxes for a time in case you have to return something or ship it off for service. Many products can only be returned in their original packaging. It's also a good way to protect somethings from getting messed up, and boxes can be stacked and stored easily, unlike the items they hold.

I keep some boxes. It is easier to store some things if they are in the box and they stay in better shape. It seems everything you buy, if you return it, it has to be in the original box, so I keep them for awhile. Packing boxes I usually cut up and throw out. I would like to recycle them, but there is no place that is close that I could do so.

I kept a few boxes for bigger and major appliances or stuff, like printers, cookers and glasses. But for other stuff that I always use, like laptops and TV, I already trashed them. My husband doesn't want to keep ANY boxes that's why we always argue over what to do with them once the item purchaes was open. I usually fold them up and store them in the shelevs right above the staircase.
