Are You Using Earphone When Calling? Or Put Your Phone Directly on Your Ear?

This has been my problem, my ear hurts every time I got a phone call, specially if it would last for several minutes. How about you? Do you experience the same? I guess I need to buy a new durable earphone, I bought last time and it cost me almost $16, yeah but it did not last for a year, and my original earphone when I bought my LG GT540 was not working already, or is the wireless earphone (via Bluetooth) is durable?

I normally used my mobile direct to my ears. I have an original earphone from LG. Since I bought my Mobile while I was in Saudi Arabia, until now I never use the earphone. I like to have the bluetooth headset but I forgot to buy it before I came home. It's worth $25 in KSA. I didn't see similar kinds here in our country.

Most of the times, I answer my phone with the headset. Seldom do I use just the phone especially when it's my husband who;s calling me because we talk for hours over the phone and it is less hassle if you have a headset. I haven't tried the bluetooth one, it's quite expensive to get one and besides, I'm okay with the wired headset.

It depends on the situation, if I am listening to radio or music then someone calls, then will use my earphone..if not, then I will be using the direct way of answering calls/calling.. but most of the time I used the direct method as what everyone else is mostly doing, just a normal person will do.

hello bro,
Wireless earphone is fine as long as you buy a branded one.
I don't need earphones since I don't call people and seldom receive phone call (just waiting for my mom's calls)
Well, since it is your ear that has a problem, why not visit your EENT and have it check?

I think it is actually due to the soundwaves and radiation of the phone when calling.
Well, i too experience the same thing, my ear suddenly hurts after a few minutes especially when using headsets or earphones. :)
I think you should use the standard earphones for that. :D i use the standard one (plain style) and it doesn't hurt my ear much :3

I find that earphones generally hurt my ears after a while as well! Though that said I have some small in-ear earphones that I can wear for a while without much pain.
What I would normally do, though, is turn the phone onto speaker-phone and just talk into it like a walkie-talkie. More so if I am in a somewhat private-ish area; otherwise I would simply talk into the phone as normal.

Ah I just hold it a bit closer to my ear and close to my mouth and it seems to work ok for me!

Wow, anyway, am trying to use the case as protector now, instead of opening it, I can still here when it's close, maybe it would work too! If I can find some cheaper earphone I might buy as well as long as its durable, but how I know it is? lol... sometimes, it's about the price and brand...

Yeah, I also prefer to use the loud speaker or simply the "speaker" option of my phone, but it would really impair the voice, that's my problem so I can't here someone's voice clearly... I also prefer those with small ear piece, but I guess its safety not to put the phone itself directly to our ears, I've been accusing every time my ear hurts...

I've been using a cell phone for almost 24 years & I've never had that problem... I got my first cell phone when I turned 18 & I'll be turning 42 in few month... I use my cell phone for work reasons, too, so I'm constantly on my phone... I normally don't use Bluetooth... And I go through somewhere between 2,500 - 3,000 minutes of talk time every month on average... I've been doing so for past 15 years or so... I've always been using it directly on my ear...

Wow, thanks for sharing that, for almost 24 years? Oh no, we have no cellphone here in the Philippines in 1980s, or base on what I knew, I first heard about it during the late 90's, and I got my first cellphone during my 3rd year high school... lol, I've using cellphone almost 8 years from now...

I had a cell phone for one year and then gave it up due to the pain in my head. I would always get this pain in my head right above my ear. I know it was because of the phone so I gave it up.People would tell me just use the earplugs but I didn't like the feel of that in my ear. I truly believe the phone is very sensitive for some and can cause tumors or cancer. In fact even Sheri Crowe the singer ended up with a benign tumor in her head and she believes it had to do with her cell phone. Now I only use a landline phone in my home.

Thanks to start this topic otherwise this topic was in my list and I want to start two days after. Nice questions I always think how the people can put the ear phone in ear because if I put in my ear then paining is start. I cant hear the song by ear phone or talking from earphone. I like to put the mobile phone directly on Ear.

Earphone would be good for me when the environment is noisy but I do not use it that much. I prefer the phone directly.

I also use earphone sometimes especially if it is very noisy around. But most of the time I would use the phone directly. I never experience that because I don't stay with a phone call that much.

Good for you but would you believe that just lately I able to talk 60 minutes x 3 = 180 minutes all in all, with no interval... so I guess my ear should hurt, but its not really good to use it directly... have you tried the bluetooth headset?

If I am ready for a long call then I will put on my earphone, but if it just a fews minutes call then I will put my phone on my ear directly because I always forget to bring the earphone with me,but I think put phone on ear directly will do harm to ones health not only will hurt your ear but also will bring radiation to ones body.

Hi. I'm putting my phone directly to my ear when I'm using it to call to or someone is trying to call me. Even though I'm using earphone sometimes but I still prefer to put it directly to my ear because I can hear clearly and sometimes I switch to loudspeaker to hear more clearly.

Yeah that's the good thing, however it's really not good for our health... the radiation... we must be aware of it now, today am taking caution already!

I used to always use my earphones when talking on the phone. But lately I just put the phone directly on my ear. I like it more than using earphones. Sometimes I feel like I am talking to myself when using earphones.

I usually answer my mobilephone directly to my ears. But when I think the call would last long, I use earphones especially when I am on a trip or in a vehicle. My mobile phone is LG too. :)
I think durable ones are the ones that is brand of your mobile phone brand. I am sorry I can't help you in suggesting brands. I hope you have your ears check. There might be a problem with that. Early detection means early cure..

I also love to have an ear phone while talking if I want to have a long talk. I also feel bad if I need to put the phone on my ears for long. Also if I am in noisy place I prefer to use my ear phone since we can have a better communication .

I don't use earphone when answering calls. I only use my earphone whenever I want to listen some music. :)
