I love Simon Pegg's two big movies Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz but did you know he once had his own television show that he co-created and wrote. Back in 1999 he started a show called Spaced that starred him and Jessica Hynes (who makes an appearance in Shaun of the Dead) about two people that meet and pretend to be a couple to rent an apartment/flat. The fun thing is about this show is that you can see all the elements that went into Shaun of the Dead as well as some of his influences into Hot Fuzz. There could also be a little bit of the influences for the movie Paul but I am not so sure. Either way it was a fun show that only lasted two seasons but I thought I would spread the word about it.
Did any one else know about this show before? What did you think of it if you end up watching it?

It is on Netflix streaming if you are on the site. I am not sure where else to find it.

I love Simon Pegg, and my brother in law recently lent me his DVD of Spaced series one and two which I have just finished watching. I read Simon Pegg's autobiography and read that he had done this series and I was shocked because I am a huge fan of his and I could hardly believe that he could have possibly done a whole two series of work without me knowing about it. But I borrowed the DVD anyway and I really loved it. There are a lot of things that are similar between that and his films, but I think that is often true of any script writer, and certainly isn't a bad thing.
