Where Oh Where Has My Writing Gone???

Recently, I have taken a break from writing articles. I feel as if the world is caving in around me. I'm not sure why. Every time I have written what I feel is a good article with correct punctuation and grammar it seems that the editors of the organizations I am writing for don't like what I am doing. I have written well over 400 articles for several different sites and thought that I was doing fairly well. Now, I feel that I need to tighten up my skills and improve some where. I'm not sure where to start. Another part of me, feels that maybe I should give up writing all together. But, maybe I just need to extend my break from writing. I guess only time will tell.

I think writing like everything else has ups and downs, you need to know your pace and sometimes the way they seem to be pushing you could be what's wrong in it all. How about a blog/site or something you can do on your own, so those who actually like your writing end up reading and choosing to spend time reading you?

I've been a writer through my whole life and though I will admit that there are some times that I do find that I need to take a break from writing, I don't find that there is any kind of improvement in the quality of my writing due to the fact that I do have to take a break from writing from time to time. That, of course, is only the way that I personally feel and that doesn't mean that what works for me will be something that will work for you. Best of luck in getting your mojo back.

From my experience the longer you break from writing the worse it is as you will get used to not writing, rather than writing better. You just need to see where you lack. Maybe your editors can give you an explanation as to why they did not like your articles. Whenever I reject an article I make sure to tell the writer the reason for the rejection.

I haven't found that taking a break from writing does my writing much good. Might give me a chance to take a long hard look at some of what I wrote but I have to be careful or the break has this way of extending itself. If I were you, I'd try polishing my skills more but extending the break might keep extending itself indefinitely. Been down that road. Wasn't very rewarding. You've got over four hundred articles under your belt. You're a writer. Don't give it up.

I think that you shouldn't give up writing. If anything continue writing, get people to proof read your stuff and keep submitting. If you are getting tired of submitting your hard worked upon articles then you should just post them on your blog or create. At least your stuff will be seen by friends, family and other people that may stumble upon it. You never know what a well written blog could lead you to
