Before, during our lunch break, I took a short nap on my table to recharge my energy. But I am not doing this anymore. I am making my free time to be more productive. Instead of taking a nap, I make my free time more productive by making crafts like crocheting. Finished items are being sold to my wife's online shoppe. For me, this is one wise way to spend your free time.
What about you mylotters, what do you do during your free time? Do you spend it wisely? Good day mylotters.

In my latest work, we used to dim off the lights and take power naps. But a circular was passed banning the dimming of lights anytime of the day, and we also implemented the "no lunch break" policy in every department. Pretty understandable because we're in the government and public service is our main job.

I just wandering how do you took your lunch? Maybe like in the bank, you will have shift in taking lunch. I guess that is hard for government employees but as part of public service, I salute you for that.

Now I know. That will be a good move for government offices to continue their public service since most clients will have to stay on their line even on lunch time.

i always like to spend wisely by taking small naps and recharging and working fresh rather than being dizzy

That is a wise routine too. Recharging for the ret of the day's work is really needed especially when you are already exhausted during the first half of the day.

When I was at University and living in halls of residence I would often take a nap when I got home from my lecture at around 10am because I was always in classes first thing in the morning. I always found that I felt even tireder when I woke up rather than feeling better, so when I moved out of halls I decided that I would try and stop sleeping after lectures. Once I started doing this I had more energy during the day and was certainly able to sleep a lot easier at night so I know that this was the right decision to make. Your body is not really made to be taking naps in the middle of day, so you might find that it is much better for you to stop napping as well.

In my case, when I haven't got enough sleep at night, I feel sleepy before lunch time. Furthermore, my head starts aching. But when I got a short nap during lunch break, my headache bacomes severe and feels that I haven't enough energy and make me feel more sleepy.

That is one of making break time productive. Even we earn a bit here in mylot, still you are earning. Not only that, you gave time for others like reading their posts and sharing your ideas.

We are not allowed to take a nap during luch break at work, so just a coffee and try to keep the activity level high... which is kind of impossible if you didn't sleep enough at night. Ok, there were times when we were able to get a little nap, I wouldn't do anything else when I need that to be able to function.

This is really hard for you not to take a nap, just like what you said especially when you don't have good sleep a night before. I guess you really need to find something to help maintian your energy the entire office hours.

Well, because I work in a company, so I just spend my lunch break with having lunch and chat with colleagues. Sometimes, I go shopping also. I wish I could do more productive things during break time, like you did :)

Sometimes, even we got some chit chats with colleagues, I still continue making crafts to make my breaktime much productive.

At my work, I usually skip lunch, I would go on to my car and took a 30 minutes nap. Sometimes, I might go to bed late, and I just need 20 to 30 minutes nap to help me out get through the day. I think I made it as a habit already, because I am doing it almost every single day, am I not productive anymore. Maybe I am.

I think there's nothing wrong with taking a nap during lunch break as long as you will get benefit of it. I just make my break time more productive since I got enough sleep at night.
